Sorry dude you need to add explosions or show terrorist "rag heads" or a black person getting beaten by a white guy to get any attention.

bronco67 12-10-2010 11:45 AM

How do you defend a guy who operates from a James Bond villian underground lair?

http://d.imagehost.org/0783/banhof2-1024x552.png

yes, this is the actual Wikileaks operational center. Its not some guy working from his apartment.

Serge Litehead 12-10-2010 11:47 AM

seems like Ron Paul is the only man left with common sense and integrity in DC while everyone else there are blindly busy with their career growth and job securities.

I love Ron Paul but sometimes I wonder if he's living in a fantasy world.

I wish that was my office. That would be wicked. :thumbsup

I wonder why people seem to forget that the root of this leak is based on espionage by an American soldier who shouldn't have had any kind of security clearance. As a kid, he refused to say the pledge of allegiance, and is a known flaming left wing activist.

Both him and Assange have nothing but malicious intent toward the US government. They've also put US soldiers and operatives in danger, and made their jobs much more difficult. Anyone that thinks all nations can just be transparent and operate without secrecy are just showing how naive they are.

don't believe the hype.

ron paul is a career politician with the main goal of getting elected, just like every other politician inside the beltway. he's a government official that creates hype via an anti-government message.

nothing more.

well, you might feel like that, but Ron Paul has my vote. It's not just hype, he does what he says.

you mean like toeing the republican party line by voting with the party 80% of the time?

or like voting for the iraq war then speaking out against the war to the public?

or something else?

Yes, that's true too.

It doesn't mean all of our secrets should be exposed for the world to see, including our enemies. We have to be realistic about what planet we're on.

Huh? Where are you getting that info?

Paul was the only 2008 Republican presidential candidate to have objected to and voted against the Iraq War Resolution,[16][17] and continues to oppose U.S. presence in Iraq, charging the government with using the War on Terror to curtail civil liberties. He believes a just declaration of war after the September 11, 2001, attacks should have been directed against the actual terrorists, Al-Qaeda, rather than against Iraq, which has not been linked to the attacks.[18] In 2003, Paul said that when America seeks war, it must be sought only to protect citizens, it must be declared by the U.S. Congress

im all for pure openess honestly.

ok, so i was off on the iraq war. nevertheless, my point still stands, he votes along party lines 8 out of 10 votes, that's when he's around to vote.

PornMD 12-10-2010 04:00 PM

There's a difference between secrecy and huge blatant lies. I can live fine not knowing every detail of what the government does to protect us, but for them to start an unnecessary war that costs our money and soldiers' lives based on huge lies should never be acceptable to ANYONE.

That said, I'm not entirely sure that Wikileaks has really exposed anything serious that intelligent people didn't already know or assume and would not be surprised if this whole thing does more damage to us all than good, once our father the government starts eliminating our privacy thanks to this.

It's like wow, Al Qaeda is largely backed by Saudi Arabia...no shit? Did we all just forget how many of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? Or Osama Bin Laden's roots?

IllTestYourGirls 12-10-2010 04:05 PM

There are 100k pages right? My guess is it will be awhile before we see the juicy stuff come to the top IF the media ever reports it. Plus he has a lot more docs that are going to be released right? I have a feeling the best is yet to come.

You are a riot!

Ron Paul is so principled that he didn't even vote for his own "Audit The Fed" bill (H.R. 1207), because it was lumped into the Finance Reform bill, which he didn't believe in.

You are so far off on this that you are either intentionally trying to mislead people or simply not paying any attention at all.

Wrong again on both points. He does not toe any party line and he was and is totally against the war in Iraq. Seriously, where do you get your information? :error

nico-t 12-11-2010 09:57 AM

whatever his agenda may be, he speaks the truth on almost everything.

Ethersync 12-11-2010 10:32 AM

An even better one for dyna mo...

Coup 12-11-2010 11:36 AM

Ron Paul spends too much pork to be credible about smaller government

Redrob 12-11-2010 11:50 AM

Ron Paul get a lot of respect here in Texas from both sides of the aisle. His appeal is to the common person. I still see Ron Paul for President signs hung in people's windows.

ner0 12-11-2010 12:09 PM

You are an idiot. Stop posting in threads that are over your head. Dumb fuck

I have no issue with wikileaks.. The info that is being put out in the public has no value to anyone other that it will embarrass a few folks. I have an active TS (SCI) for contract work I still do. Some of the reports from iraq (2004-2005-2006) are some of the very ones I and my team sent up the chain. And trust me when I say they are of no value to anyone not in the loop. I am laughing at all hub bub from people that have no idea what classified info really is..

There have been some interesting revelations, but nothing shocking. Only 1295 out of 251,287 cables have been released so far so maybe it gets better.

Redrob 12-11-2010 01:48 PM

My advice is that whenever the administration picks up the rhetoric on a particular topic, watch out elsewhere because they are going to pick your pocket.

Meese Commission sensationalism diverting the US prosecutors to attack the adult industry while the banks were looting old peoples' savings accounts: Charles Keating and Lincoln Savings etc.

People hauling $50+ million in cash in travel bags in a single trip out of Afghanistan; and, we are dumb enough not to know why nothing is getting accomplished while we pay out billions of dollars.

Ron Paul has it right.....sorry folks.

Vendzilla 12-11-2010 04:57 PM

It seems everyone is basing their opinions on wikileaks by what secrets or deals the governments are keeping that would embarrass them.
I don't look at it that way
I worry about the average soldier that has some equipment or some movement that is detailed is compromised with all this. That private that gave out the secrets, he should be put to death, thats an oath you take in the military, if he didn't like, too fucking bad. And the guy that spread it all over the place, I don't care if lives or dies either.
If this shit would have happened on a different presidents watch, heads would have rolled, but our president is a pussy, he's already probably apologizing to other countries for it

webairalex 12-16-2010 03:39 PM

Call Ron what you will, I believe the man, when I saw him debate with all the other republican candidates back in this past race I though I was dreaming. He said things to a national audience that had never been uttered from a republican running for office. To this day I watch that and feel inspired,(seeing Guliani's smirking face is enough) if there can be a little glimmer of hope in this insane goverment I believe its his courage.
