Best desktop PC deals?

I'm in the market for a new killer, but cheap desktop PC. Does anyone have any links to some hot deals, possibly with coupons? I'm looking for something multi-core, nice bit of ram, etc.

Probably depends on what you'd be using it for. If you do graphic intensive stuff where video card makes a difference, then you need to make sure you get a decent vid card too. Desktops at Costco are pretty nice deals but come with really outdated video cards for some reason. Specifically, this one seems like the best deal there: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11543945&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eC at=BC|84|56671|78519&N=4047238&Mo=10&pos=1&No=1&Nr =P_CatalogName:BC&cat=78519&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDe sc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC10600-Cat56671&topnav= Quad-core AMD w/ 8 GB Ram 1 TB HD for $600 and comes with Win7.

Now if you want high quality stuff, i.e. paying somewhat of a premium but for parts that'll last, cyberpowerpc.com seems to have the best prices on such stuff. You know sites targeting gamers will have good shit since gamers will spend sometimes $5k+ on a dream PC. When I get a new desktop, I'll be getting it there and ultimately probably spending about $1,200-$1,500 on it.

I got a killer deal on a beast machine from TigerDirect.com, they always have insane deals. Join their newsletter, it's awesome.

That used to be true, but these days you can find great deals on really slick machines that would cost more if you bought it part by part.

What sites would you order parts from? I used to build all my own PCs, but its been a while.

You're not in Toronto, so this is somewhat irrelevant, but...

I have a guy who owns a shop up the road from me who's been building PCs for me since late 1998. They work great, and any time there's been a problem he's replaced the defective parts for free. I just gave away on old P4 800 with Windows ME he built that still worked perfectly after ten years. WinME was a mistake, but the machine was indestructable.

On the other hand, I have two Dell laptops that became completely useless pieces of shit after about a year. I just leave them out for people to play with when they come over. Disposable garbage.

I'll never buy anything off the shelf, or anything that isn't built to my specifications. Build up a relationship with a local guy who's been in business for awhile.

My :2 cents:
