Video Site Membership Recommendation
 

I'm in the process of revamping a site, IShotThisVideo.com. I want to create a free membership level and a pay membership level.

I'm looking for recommendations on what to provide the free members. I want to give them enough reason to sign up for a free membership without giving away the farm. Any suggestions? Perhaps allow 30 seconds of each video or a real low quality version of the vid? Anything work rather effectively?

how bout a tube site thats not really a tube site?

Limit the outside viewing to say 5 free 30sec beginings of clips per day, if they reg for free they get say 10 2min clips per day. If they pay they get the farm.

Voila. Like you said, 30 seconds to a minute and then pop a join form in the player. Maybe even go to a minute and a half if you have good videos that have some lead-in so you're giving them lots of time but still not giving much away.
