I think that the idea that one state can influence the entire country by virtue of it's size is something the country should ensure does not happen any more.

Merely because of volume of books that Texas will order, the book publisher will want to repeat the same text for every state by default. They should just secede or get Iran to make them their propoganda filled tome of indoctrination.

Some measly little school board made up of a handful of assholes in one state could "change history".

How exactly would that work? I'm quite positive that the curriculum in San Francisco is quite a bit different than small-town Montana.

This story hits the news nearly every year with slight changes, and it's always Texas and it's always the same reason given that we should pay attention. How many school districts get the same books? I dont know. They always hype it like it's a huge deal across the nation though.
