SEO Question about foreign link trades
Say I trade with a site in my niche, but its in a different language, mine english, theirs chinese.
Does this have a factor? :thumbsup |
what do you think? seriously....
|
I'm sure it does, but I'm thinking it's only a very small metric that is measured overall. The weight the language issue is given can't be very heavy. I mean go do some research into sites that are ranking on forum backlinks and guestbook spam and shit. I've seen been looking into competition before and found plenty of obviously xrumer'd sites where you'll see tons and tons of the backlinks dropped on chinese guestbooks and message boards, shit where you can't even make out what the characters are, let alone read the page. They're ranking spectacularly on competitive terms too.
So where they might not be of huge benefit, they don't appear to hurt at all either. There's obviously more important factors that are given far more weight than the written language. |
Ofcourse is does, beacuse then google doesn't see it as relevant link exchange.

If you are trying to rank in US google, then chinese links will help, but not that much...
If chinese was just a random example, and the site in question is really french, then a link from a site like that will help you rank on google.fr... |
what cat said. doing backlink research i saw sites that were ranking well it seemed like solely from Chinese message board and blog spam.
trust what google actually does instead of theory. |
