I am surprised that this is a quote for Einstein, thinking the knowlege he gave us fired the imagination of time and space travel...

Well, knowledge is something we gather/acquire over time. Imagination is something we are born with. It's an ability.

people with imagination usually succeed. But you need the knowledge of where to apply that imagination...

The did not know it was space, they lacked that piece of knowledge. They though it was a sort of covering.

No cave drawing without the charcoal, paint etc.....knowledge of materials

I love Albert, but I actually am not a fan of this quote. I think you need both. There are too many whack jobs out there who confuse their imaginations with realities and then pretend to be knowledgable.
