I think you need both...

Vendzilla 01-24-2011 10:52 AM

Thats my favorite quote of all time, I have it in the title on my blog, which I need to start posting on, LOL

Quote of the day: "If your dog is humping your leg, pick him up and suck him off"

Imagination creates knowledge.

You must imagine it before you can conceive the needed knowledge to actually
achieve it.

It's a good one for sure. :thumbsup

Anyone can have an idea. Making that idea successful is an entirely different beast ... and that takes knowledge.

What good would knowledge be without an idea?

Just ask any under paid/unemployed PHD about it.

Still think it is a chicken and egg sort of problem... We stand on the shoulders of older generations the knowledge they created fuels our imagination etc...

I am surprised that this is a quote for Einstein, thinking the knowlege he gave us fired the imagination of time and space travel...

If you think humans looked up in the sky and didn't think about going into
space before Einstein was born then you have very little faith in human curiosity.

Cave drawings have been found that have aliens and UFOs.

The imagination of space travel is what caused Einstein to study the possibility.

You make is sound like he was just doing random shit and luckedly came up with some
really cool formulas.

u-Bob 01-24-2011 02:18 PM

Well, knowledge is something we gather/acquire over time. Imagination is something we are born with. It's an ability.

people with imagination usually succeed. But you need the knowledge of where to apply that imagination...

.

The did not know it was space, they lacked that piece of knowledge. They though it was a sort of covering.

No cave drawing without the charcoal, paint etc.....knowledge of materials

Cherry7 01-28-2011 09:13 AM

Is this question not too important to let this thread die without resolving it once and for all ?

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Yeah, a covering with a big hot ass hole in the middle that burned them at the beach,
in addition to opening and closing every 24 hours.

I think they drew in the sand with their fingers first and then imagined how to
put the drawings on the cave wall.

Nothing but love to all the people on this thread that think they know better than Einstein

2MuchMark 01-30-2011 11:13 AM

I love Albert, but I actually am not a fan of this quote. I think you need both. There are too many whack jobs out there who confuse their imaginations with realities and then pretend to be knowledgable.

Good one :thumbsup
