Any Cellphone Geniuses Out There?

I have this person who has been talking to me on BBM for about a year now. I have no fucking clue who it is. They give me info on a celebrity that I work on all the time that will remain nameless. I thought it was the celebrity since she has a blackberry and the stuff she talks about sounds like her plus she knows everything like flight info etc, exact location etc.

Now I have been in contact via email with her and I have traced the email header. The email header shows the email was sent by a blackberry and shows the ip address associated with a blackberry and location is the UK and the phone was purchased in London. Now here's my question if the person bought the blackberry in London and lived here in Los Angeles and used it to email me would it show that the persons ip address was in London? I did find out that when you email from a smart phone it will not show your exact address. I tried it from my phone and when I searched the email header my ip address comes out of Ohio and I live in Los Angeles.

So again the question is if she bought the phone in the UK and emailed me from Los Angeles from her phone could her phones IP address in the email header be a UK IP address?

u don't need Cellphone Genius.

u buy phone wherever u want., it doesn't matter.

it depends on
the service provider/operator u are using at the time of sending email.

whenever u connect gprs/3g/4g service provider gives u dyn. ip for each session to phone.

the location of ip address u are getting, is the location of service providers server , coz all internet traffic routed from their servers.

in case of wifi, the location is hotspot/its server.

i guess u get the point, if not reply

All email via BlackBerry goes via blackberry servers in Canada no?

So if they use a UK service provider and are here in the US would they use US servers or a UK server?

With normal phones the Ip would usually match the country where the person is, but not with Blackberry, because everything is encrypted and routed trough RIM's servers.

Unless you are on a company BES server, then it would show the IP of the BES server.

So if it says UK server it doesn't necessarily mean the person is in the UK?

yeah, with blackberry it doesn't mean anything.

My phone was bought in Asia and I am in Asia and when I send emails the sender IP always shows Canada, no matter where I am in the world. All email, pin, etc data always goes trough a Blackberry's BIS server or a blackberry enterprise (BES) server.
