How long can you have house guests without going crazy?

Particularly, non-related ones. We thought it would be nice to have some friends over for the holiday period. And it was good at first. However, now two weeks into them and their two kids being here I think I might be close to looking for places to hide bodies.

Yay, for being able to shut a door and work.

2-3 Days a max, then i want my home privacy

SteveHardeman 12-29-2010 08:08 AM

I went on a guided fishing trip this summer. At the end they clean and pack the fish on ice. I asked the guy how long the fish would be good for. He said "refrigerated fish are like relatives, after 3 days in your house, they both stink."

3 days and a wake up

JFK 12-29-2010 08:09 AM

scuba steve 12-29-2010 08:09 AM

xxweekxx 12-29-2010 08:10 AM

me too, after 2-3 days i wanna stab someone..

so how do u guys live with a wife??

after 2-3 days of a girlfriend visiting me i wanna hide her body too

CyberHustler 12-29-2010 08:14 AM

1 day... like one full 24 hours period and I'm done with them to the point of making it obvious that I want muh fuckas to leave... even my own mom.

@xxweekxxx, living with a wife is like a whole different dimension from visitors.

candyflip 12-29-2010 08:18 AM

Just knowing that they are coming is enough to make me crazy.

ottopottomouse 12-29-2010 08:19 AM

About 5 hours.

not really, well for me at least.. my gfs always had their own places, but when they would come and spend a whole weekend with me, i couldnt wait for them to go home :Oh crap

Scott McD 12-29-2010 08:25 AM

After a few hours i'm usually about done.

My girlfriend invites people over all the time. It gets to a certain point in the night and i'm thinking "when the fuck is anyone gonna phone for a taxi?"

It's worse when they stay for the night. When i get up the next day, i like my own time and space. I don't wanna wake up to find assholes still in my house... Bah !!

ruff 12-29-2010 08:26 AM

It's best not to tell anyone where you live.

quiet 12-29-2010 08:29 AM

it really depends on who. relatives (with a few exceptions), 3 days maaaaaax. i have several very close friends, who i can get along with for extended periods of time, no problem.

Sarah_Jayne 12-29-2010 08:35 AM

Living with a husband/wife is different because you can bitch at each other without things usually going too far. With guests, you are in 'best behaviour' zone.

Perhaps webmasters are a bit anti-social anyway but I am so used to working alone all day that a house full of people - none of which but me are working over the holidays - is testing my limits.

Black All Through 12-29-2010 08:38 AM

12 hours max

adult-help 12-29-2010 08:44 AM

3 days. ------

Bama 12-29-2010 08:46 AM

Depends on how hot she is and her willingness to walk around naked :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Zuzana Designs 12-29-2010 08:47 AM

2-3 days and I want my place back.

Sid70 12-29-2010 09:02 AM

My place is too small i can only allow them to come in and say hi , then i say bye.

czarina 12-29-2010 09:04 AM

3 days 2 nights, just like a short cruise

bbobby86 12-29-2010 09:08 AM

3xTom 12-29-2010 09:12 AM

Im pretty much done and ready to move on..
So whats that about 10 minutes or so?

Chosen 12-29-2010 09:14 AM

i'm right with you on this :winkwink:

WebairGerard 12-29-2010 09:18 AM

after about 3 or 4 days I would probably start losing it.

davecummings 12-29-2010 09:43 AM

My limit, even for coed groupies, is a couple of hours; heck, whenever the maid-service is here, I can't wait for them to complete the cleaning and get out.

I enjoy my privacy, so rather than have my kids and grand-kids visit me, I visit THEM so that I can leave whenever I want to escape back to my quiet 3-bedroom condo, one of which is my ofc.

_Richard_ 12-29-2010 09:47 AM

a while, family for us is fairly functional

ie, 'get the fuck out' is something that can be said nicely and will be listened too haha

PornGreen 12-29-2010 09:49 AM

about an hour max

magicmike 12-29-2010 09:55 AM

Two nights at max. 1 is usually better.

kowalsky 12-29-2010 10:04 AM

A few days. If there are kids, only a few hours...

ThumbLord 12-29-2010 10:10 AM

a few days indeed, 3 at the most.

Qbert 12-29-2010 10:15 AM

House guests are like fresh fish. After 3 days they begin to smell.

michael.kickass 12-29-2010 10:30 AM

In my case, 4-5 days tops, but it depends on the house guests.

DonX 12-29-2010 10:32 AM

2 days tops and then I start saying :helpme

Barefootsies 12-29-2010 11:15 AM

24-48 hours if that.

baddog 12-29-2010 11:28 AM

If they have kids? A couple hours.

IllTestYourGirls 12-29-2010 11:29 AM

Yah I was getting that feeling last time I was at yours... suck it up, coz it's hard to get rid of me :1orglaugh

For me it depends who it is. My girlfriends parents came to stay with us for 2 weeks when we lived in Malta and it was great having them there. Her mum cooks, cleans, and enjoys going out for nice dinners etc. Her dad is no hassles whatsoever, so its nice having them around. My mum came to visit me in Canada end of November for 10 days and she was bugging me after a week LOL. Bad to say that I know, but she picks at stuff that I do or don't do, and it really irritates me. Scott McD came to stay with me in Malta for 2 weeks as well and it was a blast, we just got drunk and had fun. I like having friends around, but my own family I don't like to stay with me for too long :)

woj 12-29-2010 11:47 AM

few hours? MAYBE overnight, but no more than that..

I'm allergic to kids.

If it is family (I am pretty close to them) 2 weeks is about the max unless they have their own car and can go and do stuff on their own.

Friends visiting is good for a weekend, tops and that happens quite often. A Friday night get together at our place leads to people spending the night because we don't allow drinking and driving which leads to me making breakfast the next morning which leads to them staying the day. I am learning though if I don't feed them, they leave faster, lol

They live far away and we wanted them to be here for both Christmas and New Year but in retrospect it was indeed a tad excessive.

Allison 12-29-2010 12:37 PM

My in-laws used to come for 2 months at at time and at one point I had 4 in laws plus their 3 kids all staying in my home. Now that I have 2 kids of my own it was just too much to handle, so we bought another home in the neighborhood and furnished it with all my old furniture & they stay there when they come. However, I still need to try renting it out the rest of the time to make it a more worthwhile idea. I'll let you know how that goes.

jonnydoe 12-29-2010 02:11 PM

If they are non-related, female and we are having good sex, 2-3 days. All others are welcome to stay for dinner.

BFT3K 12-29-2010 03:23 PM

2 to 6 hours is long enough to have some food, a few drinks, and a bit of conversation.

Remember, hotels exist for a reason.
