Has your Health Insurance costs gone up?

Blueshield has jacked up our rates 3 times in the last 6 months, anyone else seeing the same?

looky_lou 01-05-2011 01:00 AM

It has nothing to do with Obama-care. Just remember that.

AmeliaG 01-05-2011 01:27 AM

No. Because I pay for healthcare and not healthcare middlemen insurance company premiums.

V_RocKs 01-05-2011 02:27 AM

I have Kaiser and it goes up every year about $120. Always has...

Chosen 01-05-2011 02:33 AM

I'm not in US :)

djroof 01-05-2011 03:09 AM

I think in USA is very expensive but here in Greece is too bad the insurance

NetHorse 01-05-2011 03:16 AM

BTW, yes, mine did go up. I have BCBS as well.

bushwacker 01-05-2011 05:44 AM

My insurance has been going up about 15% -20% every year for the last 10 years.

I am going to switch my plans to a higher deductible, that will save some $$$ on my monthly premium.

12clicks 01-05-2011 05:49 AM

What's all this talk about higher rates and changing plans?
Our lord and savior said prices will go down and if you like your plan, you can keep it.
Stop with all the silly talk, your lord has spoken

HerPimp 01-05-2011 05:51 AM

Use the money your paying on insurance to buy another home in a place with free healthcare.

damn, do you go to doctor frequently? buy a lot of expensive drugs or something?

The Heron 01-05-2011 07:38 AM

I have 1500 deductible and pay $214/month with 0 copay. Premium was 210 last year. So yes it went up but not enough for me to complain now. Then again I'm 27, though I hit my deductible in january so they lose money on me! Only shit thing is only 2 regular doc visits covered, if I could get more of those I'd switch.
Michigan BCBS

There is no such thing as free healthcare...someone has to foot the bill.

In relation to Medicare prices, they did go down on many plans and you can keep 'your' plan if you like....

Any other half wit Fox twists you need me to clear up for you?

tranza 01-05-2011 09:55 AM

I'm not in the US, but it only goes up once a year down here in Brazil.

Amputate Your Head 01-05-2011 10:01 AM

There is nothing to clear up joker. Our rates went up, period. I haven't had a rate hike in over 4 years, and there is only one reason why.

You seem confused... Insurances companies said these hikes were coming long ago, along with the hikes during that time. The reason why, is investors and investments need to see overall growth.

Maybe that will help with your confusion.

The dollar was just happy I found it on the ground and gave it a warm place to live.

Maybe I could ask your one member what it's like?

I had to reach down and pick the dollar up... and I shook my ass a little, so I did work for it.

Is your one member laughing at me?

Maybe others are laughing with me and not at me, it is kinda funny that someone actually let a membership rebill with your sites.

whats funny is your imaginings. you're a two bit script kiddie with a shrinking business trying to pee up at your betters.
you're so out of your league. :1orglaugh

why don't you hit up one of my employees and tell them I want you to change the background color on 20 of my sites?
they'll hire you. then this thread will be worth the ridicule.:thumbsup

HandballJim 01-05-2011 11:14 PM

My Oxford went up 6%, and my wife had HealthNet but they went up in price so she also has Oxford now...sucks because by her have a different insurance company I would pay nothing since I was covered by 2 different insurance company's. Everything from cold medicine to vitamins have jumped in price.

Oh lord.. you're talking to me or anyone here about a shrinking business? Now that truly is some funny shit. :1orglaugh

Someone needs to update your sites, after 5 years, come on... The problem is, I can clearly see you can't afford an in-house Webmaster to do updates, add or build anything. So I'll require the $20 up front on this job.

Hell... I know that's a reach, how about this for $5 I'll explain it to you, how to add a background color yourself. Then you can go around pretending like you have skills as well.

There is fuck all cost control in the so called "reform". Of course premiums are going to continue to rise. It's why the lack of the public option or medicare buy in on top of compulsory insurance is pretty much the single stupidest thing in the history of RETARDED policy decisions. Obamacare was always going to be a massive clusterfuck. You'd have to be blind not to see it. There were a few decent things in there but it didn't fundamentally change anything. It's a simple political calculation.. The insurance companies said during the "debate" that they'd be raising premiums and they are.. Hooray for another "lose-lose" Obama decision.
