People still using free hosting?

I remember back in the day it was all the rave. I haven't been around much in the adult industry the past while, so just curious.

Yes they do.

We are running a promo on both a FREE and low cost VPS hosting, and people snapping dat shit up like hot cakes. We had over 500 people applying in 2.5 weeks since launch. A lot still use it. You simply have to make sure you do your due diligence if you are going to offer it.

oh no I'm not offering it or looking to use it. I was just trying to remember this one free host I used when they first came out then that question came to my head.

You had to pick from a list of sponsors they provide, then signup under them and promote the sponsor on every page. I think they sold the site or went under.

Edit: revshare hosting. That was it!

It means no overhead for some people so it's a why not type situation. I still think most would still be better off with paid hosting in the long run.

Yeah, revsharehosting.com. The site closed down 2-3 years ago.

3xmedia 01-05-2011 08:43 AM

stupid people maybe...

then they go to cry here when these great free hosts shut their account down of redirect their traffic.

stay far far away from free hosts... seriously... you have no control over it... they can steal your traffic whenever they want.

kristin 01-05-2011 08:46 AM

Yeah, we still have people that utilize our free host.

djroof 01-05-2011 08:56 AM

I remember when I had from Platinum Bucks...

if you mean your business seriously you will never use free hosting, as me in the past :) you can build your site and once your site get some traffic and attention and serps, those hosting people will just say something about high resources and your work is their ... :2 cents:

Yes they do :)

considering you can get a decent shared account for $10 a month then there's no reason to use that shit anymore.

if you can't afford $10 a month well then you know the rest.

I have a few sites on Blogspot, not sure if you consider it a free host thou.
