NATS question

what happens if i add some shit to the end of a nats link code, will it still be counted ?

i noticed with another sponsor when i used
http://sponsora.com/?id=smokey
i switched to using campaign to track
http://sponsora.com/?id=smokey&campaign=slot1

and noticed sometimes i would get sales with campaign id's that were non-exisiting like
slot1SOMECRAPHERE

something was adding characters to my outbound sponsor links , so without using campaign to track my sales were going to a nonexisting affiliate account now i was getting credit but to non-existing campaigns ( i can live with that :) )

i only know, if u add /join to ur nats encoded url, surfer goes to direct join page.

I think it goes into the 'extra' slot in the DB. If you need me to, I can check.

As long as your affiliate ID is correct sales will be credited to your account. Adding invalid code to the end of the nats code can sometimes mees up the hit count but should never affect sales.

If you are getting sales to a campaign that didn't exist then I would guess that the sponsor has auto campaign setup.

"should" isn't a very good answer :) your affil id is not shown on encoded links, i know where it is but.. question remains the same

i kinda figured that heh, was just pointing out that i was missing sales and only noticed because that sponsor had auto campaign on and used a campaign paramater, the hits come from poorly coded webapps and such , phpbb has a bug that adds stuff to urls now and then because alot of them are phpbb links appended to my campaign id

btw: is there a way to decode encoded nats links?

Yes, search on google for "base64 decoder online"

Sounds like an HTML problem.

example :

<a href="http://google.com click here for goolge</a>"<hello"</a>
