Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab

Kind of weird pricing:

Full price with month to month 3G - $499
Price with 1 year contract - $599
Price with 2 year contract - $599

Seems they have it backwards!

Although I wouldn't buy one as they just announced a 4G tablet coming soon.

costs you more for a longer term, what idiots

That will be available only on Sprint

Hmm, that would be pretty sweet if you could get it on a 3 year contract for like 799 :1orglaugh

PornGreen 01-06-2011 01:30 PM

maybe the monthly service is more if you go monthly?

artman 01-06-2011 01:36 PM

motorola has a slick tablet coming out shortly. i had the samsung for a couple days before i had to return it, current android just isnt that good for tablets

Zorgman 01-06-2011 07:19 PM

Galaxy tab can't be updated past 2.2 so it's a pointless system.

pamon 01-06-2011 07:27 PM

wait until 3.0 honeycomb gets released. it's the version designed for tablets.

The Motorola Xoom looks pretty good:

I wanted one, but thought the bigger one would be more ideal...so I decided to wait.

For Christmas, I got a Nook Color from Barnes and Noble. By simply plugging it in to my PC and running a few batch scripts, my $250 Nook is nice and almost as functional as the Galaxy Tab (no 3G or camera) which costs more than 2 times as much.

That said, for a tablet...7'' or so is a really nice size for browsing and watching tv/video on the go. I think that more people will realize this once they have 10'' models we can actually hold in our hands.
