.htacess mod rewrite? not sure might be more complicated than that...

First you need to make wildcard dns record for your domain enabled and then use wordpress-multi-site-enabler-plugin. It will create all the wordpress settings for you.

thank you guys, will try that multi site enabler plugin. its not needed to have the subdomains made automaticaly, i can do it by myself, just wordpress needs to know that the categories will be on subdomains so links will be working and so ... thanks much good to know thats its possible :thumbsup will be back after weekend with results ...

I will keep an eye on this thread, I didn't know such a plugin existed. I just enable multisite, and then create the subdomains myself, and each subdomain has it's own categories.

Each subdomain on multisite is just like a stand-alone wordpress install.

I don't know of anything that will do subdomains as catagories into one install.

if you wanted it automated you would need to map categories through subdomioains using wordpress wp_rewrite system, so each category would automatically be done.

sounds like a task ;)
