Cute or gross?

A friend just sent me this page of baby bats in blankets. Are they cute or gross? I keep going between 'awww' and 'ewww'.

mineistaken 01-10-2011 12:36 PM

I like animals, but bats are extremely gross, same as rats, more than mice.

BruceM 01-10-2011 12:37 PM

Definitely cute :thumbsup

See mice are cute in photos too. Less so in person.

ottopottomouse 01-10-2011 12:42 PM

I've got one of those yellow dusters on my desk - just need a bat to go in it now.

I have several in the kitchen. Now I know that if I ever run into a baby bat they can be put to good use.

Uhh, baby bats in blankets! Once they grow up and start flapping around they're hardly cute though.

I would stick them in the oven, blankets and all, with some grated cheese on top yum

wild johnny 01-11-2011 07:24 AM

Yep Cute..

spazlabz 01-11-2011 07:42 AM

heh heh beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think those lil bats are cute as hell.

I used to be complete terrified of rats, so I got one as a pet. Fluffy white thing that was cute and funny as hell. When he died this past year our whole family was extremely sad. They really are fantastic little pets and cute as hell

brassmonkey 01-11-2011 07:47 AM

they look like some type of toy dog.

JesseJo 01-11-2011 07:50 AM

Bats are great insect controls, especially eating mosquitos so you should love them.

woj 01-11-2011 08:28 AM

cute in pics, I wouldn't want them flying around in my house though...

I had a pet rat when i was a kid and thought they were pretty cool too.

Then I read a feature article in a magazine about the life of a new york city rat control worker. He went on to tell some horrific stories about his encounters with rats in NYC. What I found the most disturbing and completely changed my opinion of rats was the fact that they will actually eat human flesh and it doesn't matter if the person is dead orl alive.

He talked about elderly, bed ridden people that had their ears eaten off by rats or their fingers stripped to the bone. Now imagine coming home from the bar and passing out on your bed and that cute little rat you see running for crumbs in the kitchen climbs up on your bed and proceeds to gnaw off all the flesh on your fingers.

Most animals will leave you alone if you leave them alone. Not the rat. It lives amongst us and will actually eat you when given the right opportunity.

Fact: The size of the opening a rat can squeeze through is limited only by the size of his skull.

I think they're super cute. Flying foxes.

The bats we have around here aren't as cute, but I still like them. We thought about building a bat house on our property but I don't want to deal with the ammonia and guano..

WebairGerard 01-11-2011 11:59 PM

they are very cute.

have a few bats in my area and love when in early evening they come swooping in and start picking off the insects. pretty cool to watch too.
