WhoIs
The company I pay for my domain have just said they are changing the company they use.
My WhoIs used to have my details there, but now it says the following Registrar: DIRECTI INTERNET SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. D/B/A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM Whois Server: whois.PublicDomainRegistry.com Referral URL: http://www.PublicDomainRegistry.com Status: clientTransferProhibited Any thoughts on this? I never paid to be anonymous, is this domain still mine? Thanks Pete |
Did you purchase the domain and hosting together?
If so it sounds to me that, your hosting is switching domain registration companies. |
My domain is with a different company to the hosting for historical reasons
I can login to the domain to change nameservers, but I don't understand why it no longer has my name on the WhoIs |
see if u can switch to namecheap or moniker....hopefully you can
|
If you can log into the domain to change nameservers, why don't you log in and unlock the domain, make a note of the domain's authorisation code and change the Admin e-mail address to your own.
Then set up a new account with a different registrar (controlled by you and no-one else) and transfer the domain to your new control panel - you will already have the Authorisation code, the domain will be unlocked and any authorisation e-mail will get sent to you as the admin e-mail contact to approve - hey presto, problem solved :thumbsup |
