Ok who the fuck is Giving out/Spamming Industry emails?
 

During the show I had to provide my email for three events. The show itself, (AVN) Porno Dan for the party at the Artisan and D money for the players/affiliate ball.

NOw Im getting a bit of Industry spam with people wanting to sell me their services. Some of which I do myself. So its just a list being spammed.

Personally I dont think its Porno Dan. I first thought AVN, but some of these companies arent adult so that makes me think possibly the connection to mainstream that the affiliate ball holds.

Im not all pissy about it necessarily. Some decent networking might come out of it... but its just first reaction to getting emails form people wanting to sell me on my own services.

Without question AVN sold the list but I doubt they would ever admit it.

Well if you are giving out your email, didn't you think they were going to use it for something? Did the solicitor say they (or their "business partners) weren't going to contact you? They're not collecting emails just to take up space on their hard drive.

Kinda lame though if they don't tell you how they would use the email during the collection process.

Use a fake or tracking code @ like: avnspam@, dmoneyspam@ etc if you care.

No I dont believe I was notified of any use of my email. It was part of the registration for each event. The Porno Dan Party and the Players/Affiliate Ball was simple email them wih your name and Email to get on the list and have a confirmation sent back. AVN is pretty standard... name company site email... the whole nine. Except at every other event Ive went to, my email didnt seem solicited.

Just seems like a no no... but hey... not really a big deal as all I got today was the normal viagra spam ;)

If this is your biggest problem you should consider 2011 off to a great start
