7 New Gadgets Coming This Year - A Few May Blow Your Mind

Check this out, Sony is coming out with an HD camcorder that has a BUILT IN PROJECTOR capable of projecting a 60 inch image on any flat surface...that is amazing.

Other great stuff coming in the next few months:thumbsup

some of it looks pretty cool, but the "passive" 3D tv is junk IMO. Wait about a year or two and there will be glassless 3DTV for about $5k and you will see all these ones with glasses selling for about 1/4 of the price

not a 3D fan myself, its a gimmick which leads to making crappy films so things can fly at you.

OMG! The iPod on Verizon?!!!

Like there's not already 50 great Droid phones at verizon, and everyone has to make a big deal about that Apple bullshit. Now Verizon people can get a phone that makes them look cool and be a fucking drone like everyone else -- and the people already on Verizon network can have their bandwidth clogged up by all these iPhone fuckers.

Got this for Christmas... this is a Samsung "Pico" projector capable of an 80" picture.

It has a MicroSD slot on the side, a USB port on the back, and a VGA connection. It's powered by a battery, and alternatively can be plugged into the wall.

Kind of an interesting bit of technology.

there are some pretty cool things coming out. I am not really a technology freak so I probably wont actually see these things until a few years from now.

How's the image quality from that little guy?

PornGreen 01-14-2011 08:08 PM

i didn't think any of those were even interesting let alone mind blowing

Well it's not bad, but it's not mind-blowing either. It has a native resolution of 854 x 480, and I think it interpolates to 1280x768 or something. The main drawback is that it doesn't have any sort of keystone adjustment and therefore there's not a lot of flexibility with how you position it... but if you're just hand-holding it, or putting it on a table with a wall right in front of it... it's not bad.

It has capacitive touch buttons on the top instead of a remote control.

If you want something killer for home theater, you should be looking in the $2500 range for a 1920x1080 projector. This one is meant for hotel rooms, or on-the-fly presentations.

Nothing there that blows me away. They already have cell phones that act as a projector, so big deal. Not a huge fan of the 3d.

I went to CES a few years back and they had these TVs that were flat as a single pane of glass. I mean, you touched invisible buttons on a huge plate of glass and it became a TV. When is that going to become standard?

Agreed on the passive 3D, I thought the same thing. Fuck that piece of shit. 3D glasses-free is just around the corner. I'm not going to jump on the 3D bandwagon until then. LED is all the picture anyone could ask for at the moment.

Theones I thought were really cool were the 3D DS, and the built-in projector camcorder...

John-ACWM 01-15-2011 06:01 PM

I'd like to try some of those myself.
