Cant belive how manyof you still smoke

Checking out some Fubar pics and I am shocked at all the people smoking still.

Come on guys you are all getting old time to give it up for good.

It is not easy but I can tell its life changing. DO IT

MikeSmoke 01-14-2011 08:56 PM

Maybe some day I'll understand why people feel the need to lecture and nag other people - especially people you don't even know and never even see in real life.
Are you that desperate to feel superior?

(And I have no dog in this fight, I quit in 2009.)

cooldude7 01-14-2011 08:59 PM

i smoke., but i dont have any intentions to quit.,

give me 1 reason other than health to quit smoking.

p.s. about health i dont care.
p.p.s. but i'll quit after getting married.

Smoking is a grotesque habit and worst of all one that directly affects other unwilling participants nearby by poisoning the atmosphere all around for dozens of feet forcing everyone around to breathe carcinogenic fumes. I don't care if people drink or use drugs, but I wouldn't be cool with alcohol users pissing on me as they drink nor would I tolerate people spilling powder cocaine all over my lunch or jabbing me with heroin needles while they were imbibing nearby. I put up with it once or twice a year at conventions because I get business out of those trips and value my face time with old friends and business associates. But it is indeed a gross spectacle and miserable experience on some level.

Evil Chris 01-14-2011 09:07 PM

I quit 5 years ago. Done.

Oh, fuck you, you clueless bastard!

Tobacco is a legal product, the government taxes it and supports planting and harvesting of it; AlGore inheirited all his money from tobacco farming and if you realy beleived the silly shit you are posting, you would show us how you have written or emailed your congressional representatives regarding eliminating tobacco subsidies and illeagalizing the product itself.

You can't do it, so STFU!

Actually it was the people that I consider friends and I have met that inspired this post

If it can make 1 of them smoke 1 less cig then it was worth it for me.

Have a great weekend

Sexgenoten 01-14-2011 09:29 PM

Pardon me but fuck you.

You and your trite shit and intrusions on the lives of others are of no help to people who wish to stop smoking.

Ah.
And that's why you started out your OP by saying:

You were "shocked" at all the people you consider "friends" who still smoke (but you didn't know they still smoked). They really must be great, close friends whom you meet often. And, of course, the best way to express your concern for the health of friends - is on a public forum.

1. You consider it a "grotesque" habit. Many others don't. You're not stating a fact - you're stating an opinion - and not even an opinion about smoking. It's an opinion about second hand smoke, which understandably annoys you. However, that opinion has nothing to do with the OP. BTW, if people smoke in their own homes, only with other smokers around, is it still "grotesque?"
2. He wasn't saying anything about being around smoke or smokers. He was just telling people who happen to be reading his post on a messageboard, that they shouldn't smoke. I don't think people should do drugs, but I don't go around lecturing people who I don't know, or just know in a "business/social" way about it. That would just be an annoying thing to do, most likely to make the point that "I'm better and smarter than all of you people who do drugs."

datatank 01-14-2011 10:44 PM

Just because I have not seen some one in a few years does not mean I consider them less of a friend or care any less about them

Have a good night.

alias 01-14-2011 11:37 PM

Smoking cigarettes wastes the lungs and heart for little rewards. You could be smoking cannabis, freebase cocaine or dmt instead.

Choose wisely.

AliGbone 01-14-2011 11:41 PM

dat shit will kill yous

epitome 01-14-2011 11:46 PM

A 19 year old kid I know who has never smoked a day in his life is in the hospital with lung cancer.

My grandmother smoked for more than 60 years and lived a few years past her life expectancy.

That aside, I bet the OP drives fast, fucks random girls bareback or does other things just as risky. In other words, he has no basis for his holier than thou attitude.

I quit smoking about three years ago. I can give you a bunch of reasons to quit.

1) You don't smell anymore. You don't understand this when your smoker, but when you smoke you stink. Really bad. When you quit for a year and then your buddy comes over, you can smell the smoke on him a mile away. And you'll refuse to ride in his car because it reeks.

2) Food tastes better. You kill your taste buds by smoking. Quit for a bit, and then you'll re-discover how much you like food.

3) You won't hack up flem in the morning in the shower. Or cough for no reason.

4) You don't waste time smoking outside. I was stunned at how much time I was spending on a daily basis smoking.

5) Money. Do you know how much money your spending on smoking? Chances are your spending $300 a month smoking. Might not sound like a lot, but that's like $4k a year.

6) You fell better. I'm forty-two and I jog every morning. I don't feel tired any more like when I smoked.

That's a good start. Someone else can add in. Of course, the health benefits are huge too. You'll live longer.

this post was so damn retarded it broke my brain. None of this changes the fact smoking is a disgusting habit and people that smoke should quit. You can rant about government, al gore, and whatever partisan bullshit you want. It still won't change that fact.

Rochard, your post sums it up.
As for the Pro-smokers defending stupidity. Let em smoke. They'll be gone quicker along with their lame excuses why we should breath their air.

BSleazy 01-17-2011 01:11 PM

I need to quit smoking. I could lease a new car for what I spend on cigs :(

You know, tobacco companies could solve this problem by making ODORLESS cigarettes. It wouldn't address the 2nd hand smoke issue, but the smell.... the smell is what makes non-smokers want to vomit and usually makes us bitchy. If it didn't smell, people probably wouldn't notice you were smoking. Just make a cig that doesn't stink. Problem solved.

InfinityOscar 01-17-2011 01:24 PM

its been 46 days for me since the last time i had a cig ...

smoking is an annoying habit, it's very unhealthy and expensive. Tried quitting 2 times a couple months ago.... 3 days was the longest without a cig.. i know one thing, i wont smoke by the end of this year anymore. Whether itll be next week or in a few months, i will quit.

magicmike 01-17-2011 02:39 PM

I was at the show, and man around the circle bar it was crazy how many were smoking. I'm still coughing from all the smoke at the show.

Roald 01-17-2011 02:52 PM

8 days and counting. Tough ride sofar, feeling like a junkie.

MrBottomTooth 01-17-2011 02:57 PM

I am so glad they banned smoking in bars around here, nothing worse than waking up with a sore throat and wreaking of smoke. Even after you shower you reach for your coat to leave the house and it still wreaks of that horrible stench. Such a filthy habit.
