50+ degree swing in less than 2.5 hours
 

It was a beautiful day in SoCal today. It was about 80 at my house. A bike board I post at once in a while gave me passes for a bike show in Sacramento this weekend, so I decided to ride up.

Within 100 miles the temps had gone up to 88 and down to below 60. Within another hour I was in 35 degree temps. Luckily it has warmed up to 46 here, so I am in for the night.

same with the Las Vegas valley and Mt Charleston.

by the time you get to the top, it has dropped 30+ degrees

Except I am not going up any mountains. And now it is colder than when I got here. Oh well, just another hour ride. Hopefully it will warm up for the ride home.

When I first moved to Olympia I got caught downtown w/o a coat a few times. Would leave the house high 70's and sunny, go downtown, wind would change direction and seemingly out of nowhere it would be overcast and 40's - 50s.

IN is like that. Walk into the mall it is 70, come out 15 minutes later it can be 50 or 90.
