Webair wtf?

You lost my HD and cost me a month of painstaking labor to get my program and sites back up. Now my sites have been down for hours and all you tell me is your working on it WTF. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and you failed me again. What do you have to say after already costing me thousands of dollars now completely failing on me again after trusting you when you said this was a one time mistake WTF where does one draw the line?

Ron Bennett 01-16-2011 08:29 PM

Even the best webhosts can experience problems. You had no backup?

Ron

Wow that sux :(

Barefootsies 01-16-2011 08:30 PM

Ouch. Hopefully you get it worked out man. Webair GFY bat signal activated.

What are you waiting for? Get your shit moved over to NationalNet you won't regret it.

Deej 01-16-2011 08:34 PM

harsh... right when my take on webair was looking better...

SteveHardeman 01-16-2011 08:42 PM

I'm guessing you didn't nominate them for an XBIZ award? That sucks man. Hope you get it taken care of.

xenigo 01-16-2011 08:46 PM

I've a VPS on Webair... hopefully that means I have my storage spread out across many drives. I haven't really had any issues thus far. Maybe a few hours of downtime in a year... but otherwise not a deal breaker.

BJ 01-16-2011 08:47 PM

bunch of newbs, but they have an affiliate program so the tards will defend them

HomerSimpson 01-16-2011 08:49 PM

another webair "support" thread...

move to Naked Hosting / Certified Hosting :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

epitome 01-16-2011 08:54 PM

I am surprised the usual suspects aren't in this thread yet talking about how great they are.

Meanwhile, I just see yet another example of how Webair has (perhaps) unintentionally fucked over a customer.

amerinoc, just sayin

Konda 01-16-2011 09:15 PM

lol people still use Webair !?!

WiredGuy 01-16-2011 09:16 PM

Did you get a backup drive or backup service? HD failures are a normal part of hosting, I get them quite often regardless of the hosting company.

DirtyDanza 01-16-2011 09:28 PM

have you been on live support?

maybe you keep uploading something that keeps crashing your shit?

SSD for the win.

I've read a lot of reports of SSD's failing... but instead of having a platter that holds data, and will still be relatively intact in the event of a crash, SSD's are a memory module where the data literally will vanish!

If you consider "many" being two or three, plus some spare(s) (often used for nightly/weekly backup). That's likely, or darn close to it, the configuration they use. Webair isn't the Googleplex.

Why would a VPS be spread across multiple drives?

BIGTYMER 01-16-2011 10:50 PM

Do your own backups. Problem solved.

wdsguy 01-16-2011 10:56 PM

webair sucks, i left them along time ago.

Agent 488 01-16-2011 11:00 PM

We have been with Webair for some time now, we have never experienced one single problem ever. Not sure what to think about this.

Webair is awesome! Keep up the great work webair

YOu rarely ever post but to deflect heat from webair... just saying...

Cyber Fucker 01-16-2011 11:28 PM

Remember to always do backups on your own if you don't like to pay for this service. :2 cents:
I hope that you will have your hdd back.

Sausage 01-16-2011 11:45 PM

Comeon if you are running a program at least host it on mission critical hosting like Nationalnet, Mojohost, Isprime ... would even say Cyberwurx is getting there. You owe it to your affiliates!

Oh and if you don't have backups included in your management service then .... well seriously wtf are you doing ?

Sid70 01-17-2011 02:32 AM

blame Natalie Portman

bl4h 01-17-2011 02:44 AM

im pissed off at webair atm. I wanted an OS upgrade, and it took them two weeks to simply upgrade my OS to freebsd current (8.1). been a customer for at least 3 years.

Simple request..paid $50...........upgrade my shit to 8.1. They upgraded it to 7.something and it took them two weeks. i had to email them and tell them not to worry about ANYTHING other than upgrading my shit to freebsd current. i ended up configuring and compiling my shit back to what it was on my previous install. just so i could get this done.

get a clue, and fix your ghetto ass service webair. How hard can it be to follow through with simple request.

If they let me win an ipad i might have a better review

It's been said before, but MojoHost.

Cyandin 01-18-2011 03:00 PM

Any server should have at least a Raid-1 and/or have its contents backed up daily to a separate backup array, either on or off site. I really hope you can get this worked out.

pristine 01-18-2011 03:29 PM

How long before AliGBone (webair) comes in to say da webair iz da shits i got 40 boxes when dem and they never had a problem!

u-Bob 01-18-2011 03:37 PM

yep, mojo :)

WebairMetz 01-18-2011 03:47 PM

Thanks for working with us Jay Rock. Data has been fully restored from backups. Everything was resolved 100%. If you need anything else, you know how to reach me. Let me know.

pristine 01-18-2011 03:55 PM

you guys had to restore twice?

RyuLion 01-18-2011 03:59 PM

So....did you add their backup service already Jay?

Jay-Rock 01-20-2011 11:59 AM

Yeah and webair had me backup with a new machine the next morning. Good thing they gave me free backups the machine must have been killing hard drives.

Vendzilla 01-20-2011 12:03 PM

I love my webair team, yeah I link to them, but no affiliate link

It seems to be up here. Did you mean the company or only your account? Why don't you just contact them? They have 24h/day support.
