Vegas Killed Me

anyone else still sick from their trip to Vegas? The air quality around the circle bar was deadly

TidalWave 01-17-2011 09:09 PM

Way too many people around the circle bar, can just imagine all the shit that was floating around and on the bar itself from everyones hands.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-17-2011 09:14 PM

Vegas always messes with my respiratory system.

The dry air is hard on my nasal passages and always makes my lips dry.

I am rarely exposed to tobacco smoke since smoking is not allowed in most public places here in California, therefore the casinos really get to me (especially the older low ceiling places).

In an effort to stay healthy I have taken up fist bumping in lieu of handshakes, and even then I travel with a small bottle of Purell and I apply it periodically. I also abstain from eating from community food bowls where people touch the food.

I'm don't have OCD and I'm not germ phobic, I just like to try and stay healthy.

I have a small case of the sniffles that I think I picked up from a model or the air, but otherwise, I am back at work cranking away.

Wishing everyone good health! :thumbsup

Admitting you have a problem is the first step. Germaphobe! :winkwink:

I went down with a bad cold, got BETTER for two whole days, then by the time I got home my doc said I had bronchitis and sinusitis. Lots of fun. Still coughing, but the meds seem to be helping.

AndreaM 01-17-2011 11:07 PM

Isn't sick the norm after this show? You get back spend a week ill, and feel guilty that your follow-ups are slow.

Surprisingly I did NOT get a lingering sick, (I think it's the regular vitamins now) but I had no voice at all for two days. I hate Vegas.

Deej 01-18-2011 02:40 AM

I came a week or so early and grew an immunity. I wasnt effected whatsoever.

Premature ejaculation boosts your immunity?!? Who knew?

It was my 1st time in Vegas and i suffered a lot from nasal allergies. The air in the Venetian and the Wynn was very bad.
Not because of the smoke though... I'm use to it here in Spain. It must be something else.
I spent more on medicines than in the casino...
Feeling much better now back in Barcelona.

iSpyCams 01-18-2011 06:18 AM

I'm sick and I didn't go. Probably something I picked up from reading about it here.

Sounds like many of you don't have any kids.... go hang around some kids a month before the next show, that'll boost the old immune system up for you.

this is very germaphobic behaviour though.. I shake hands with people all the time, never use hand sanitizer and live for community food bowls and I don't ever get sick.

release the fear! ;)

Sly 01-18-2011 08:17 AM

I've never gotten sick after a show. I wonder if a lot of it has to do with the heavy drinking taking a beating on the immune system's?

Marie 01-18-2011 08:26 AM

The air in Vegas is awfully dry and weird, always have a nosebleed there at some point. I have a cold now - and I'm still jetlagged or so. Bah.

Chris 01-18-2011 08:46 AM

im starting to get over vegas
it was 100% dead the first two days
now starting to really move around and gettin gback to normal

all the vitamin c and hand sanitizer in the world didnt stop me from getting sick

JA$ON 01-18-2011 08:49 AM

Ive gotten sick every time Ive gone for the last 5 yrs. Only way to even TRY to curb it is

1. Drink a TON of water
2. Wash your hands 5X a day
3. Try to get at least 5 hrs a night of sleep

The first 2 are easy, its the 3rd that seems to get me :(

RebelR 01-18-2011 09:27 AM

I always try to boost my immune system before I go down. I got tired of flying home feeling like a bag of smashed assholes. I start with ColdFX 2 weeks before going down, and I swear by oil of oregano, that stuff clears you up in no time.

LeRoy 01-18-2011 09:46 AM

Just a little hangover that's all :thumbsup

RuthB 01-18-2011 09:46 AM

I couldn't talk or swallow properly for the first couple days after getting back. :Oh crap

I have no issue with the first problem, but the second is a show stopper.

Ravage 01-18-2011 09:56 AM

I don't get the "Vegas Flu" anymore. Pop them Airborne's people!

The only thing that gets to me is coughing up all the excess 2nd hand smoke for a few days after.
Its the one thing I'm never used too when I hit Vegas as you can no longer smoke indoors in Ontario.

I am particularly careful at large public events since most of the year I work fairly independently, and only see a handful of contractors, models or clients, a day or two per week.

My preventative measures in the days before the show are increasing my Vitamin intake by 400%, and lots of garlic - at the request of my wife, I now take unscented garlic pills instead of eating a clove of roasted garlic a day... :)

Scott McD 01-18-2011 11:44 AM

Yup these threads always appear after the Vegas show.

The last time i went i was fine, but time before that, i felt like shit for days once i got home...

Davy 01-18-2011 11:50 AM

Did they finish the "city center"?

Brent 3dSexCash 01-18-2011 11:54 AM

It is ALL about the hand sanitizer. The chips (these are worst), elevators, everything you touch is really what gets you sick.
