milk in glass bottles question

I have never bought milk in a glass bottle until today. SO Iget this shit home and crack it open, and there's this giant cream blob on top. Like fucking disgusting. But I scooped all that shit out and the milk beneath seems fine and delicious. Is this normal? Is that how they seal shit off, with a big blob of cream?

sounds like you got the real stuff

i always heard the cream rises to the top on real whole milk

personally though i really can't tell you, i hate milk :-(

HomerSimpson 01-19-2011 06:50 PM

that's milk fat
and that's normal...

What he said.
Should have given it a good shaking up instead.

Next time shake it up real good. That cream makes the milk rich with a good taste.
Wish I could get milk in a glass bottle these days. They used to deliver it when I was a kid.

live in hicksville?

The thickness of the layer of the milk fat should be smaller if the percentage of fat is less. You can get milk with different percentages of fat. I suppose the cream blob is normal.

Blob of cream is the best bit. Maybe you paid extra for such a luxury!?

Sarah_Jayne 01-20-2011 03:42 AM

They charge extra to get milk with that blob in the supermarkets here.

Nicky 01-20-2011 03:48 AM

I love milk. Wouldn't want any blob though.

And now you can leave it outside for 1 - 2 days and make yogurt with healthy bacteria :)

Only stopped delivering it here a few years ago. Used to have milk in a ⅓pint glass bottle at infant school.
