what's your opinion of SegPay?

I'm thinking of adding them as secondary processor since they're now integrated with ccbill cascading system. BUT I'd like to hear your opinions of SegPay before taking the plunge.

TisMe 01-19-2011 07:47 PM

4 plus years without problems has been my experience with Segpay.

Major (Tom) 01-19-2011 08:40 PM

They are awesome.

will76 01-19-2011 09:28 PM

They are run and started by a bunch of ibill higher up execs and you couldn't pay me to use them. That's my honest opinion.

For those of you who lost money to ibill and have short term memories: http://www.gfyboard.com/showthread.php?t=795460

Brujah 01-19-2011 09:36 PM

TMM sold them to Ibill?

spazlabz 01-19-2011 09:59 PM

I worked with SegPay with a former employer and I have to say they are helpful and we never had any problems using them. They also open up a lot of different ways for your customers to pay. Definitely worth looking into. However they are very strict with their rules

Ibill v2.0? Didn't ibill's top brass start Segpay?

100% correct

BIGTYMER 01-19-2011 10:40 PM

I don't use them.

Chosen 01-20-2011 12:28 AM

They've been good so far :)

fuzebox 01-20-2011 12:40 AM

Segpay rocks :thumbsup

The Ibill employees at Segpay had nothing to with what happened at Ibill. They were just people with billing experience who needed a job.

avrevenue 01-20-2011 01:12 AM

using them since 2006 and never have any problem with them

czarina 01-20-2011 08:48 AM

thanks everyone for your input.
I plan on using them as my secondary, and what made me think of them is that my affiliates will get paid straight up, since they're connected to ccbill's cascading.

Also I read this about them:
"The traditional IPSP typically held client funds for up to one month before releasing to their clients for payout. Under the SegPay model, all client funds are held by the bank until the time of payout. SegPay has contracted with Inteca (www.inteca.org) to provide a third party audit function on client funds owed as well as facilitate the release of these funds. This way, clients can sleep at night knowing that their funds are safe and will be paid."

They probably did it this way because of the iBill controversy. I DID lose money to iBill back in the day and am very leery of using a company that has anything to do with iBill, but if the money goes straight to the bank, that makes me feel better about them.

Are you crazy???? The ibill people that started segpay were just people with billing experience ???? The CEO of ibill, a "princple" (owner) of ibill and the head of ibill's EU department all started segpay....

This is from 12/07:

Officers and Directors of SegPay:

PRESIDENT: Catherine Beardsley: worked at Ibill as a VP of marketing for many years and became the CEO the last year or so before the company shut down.

VICE PRESIDENT: David Wells: worked at Ibill and was said to be a "princple". So i am guessing that means he was a partner or had some form of ownership ?

OWNER of SegPay: Chris Williams: Former Head of Ibill EU

yeah, sounds like a bunch of customer service reps that had no control over at ibill... :upsidedow

you people are either really ignorant or have really bad short term memories, or both.

If you really believed the first part of your statement above then you wouldn't touch segpay with a 10 foot pole.

Dirty D 01-20-2011 10:19 AM

SEGpay is highly recommended.
They have outstanding support and all payments are sent on time.

Hit up Kristi (KGuggi) - she does a fantastic job and will handle your account personally.

Howard Cohen $2500
there are many more, that's off the top of my head

Did you feel that way about 365 biling and epassporte before they ripped you off?:helpme

2MuchMark 01-20-2011 01:53 PM

Segpay has been great for us. They've never been late on a payment (even on holidays), installation is a snap, their admin program is slick (our accountant loves it too), and tech support has always been perfect.

The best thing of all is that Segpay was really interested in considering special setups we wanted to do, and made it work.

Anyone automatically dismissing Segpay is doing so for the wrong reasons. Checkout Segpay.com and then call them. Let them know what you need and they'll do their best to accommodate you.

Ah 365 billing.. more people that came from ibill.

The same fuck ups just keep being recirculated , they slap a new name on the company and the idiots here line up to use them.

Perfect case in point (originally posted a couple years ago)

Yep, no doubt. And in most cases they will go start their own company. Great case in point was Segpay. The CEO of segpay, and a couple top level management and a principle of ibill all hopped over from ibill to segpay before Ibill was even 100% sunk.

Same thing happened with dmr/web800 at least one of their top guys started digiblaze before web800 aka eliancecorp was 100% gone. digiblaze went under about a year later.

Take this guy for example: Troy Rauschenberger " Prior to coming to DigiBlaze Technologies, Mr. Rauschenberger held the position of Director of International Business Development with Eliance Corporation, an Internet credit card processing company.During his tenure with Eliance Corp.Mr. Rauschenberger was directly responsible for managing over 264 million in annual revenue, responsibilities also included providing guidance, support, training and supervision of all of the company's Internal/External sales functions."
Troy Rauschenberger: ZoomInfo Business People Information Digiblaze lasted for about 1year.

So after DRM/Web800 Mr. Rauschenberger went to work for Digiblaze, after Digiblaze he went to work for Ibill: " For any questions or problems with your iBill account please contact Troy Rauschenberger [email protected], our iBill representative."

Turn key business opportunity, adult content, web site design and hosting, casino sites.

Oh look according to linkedin he is working for 365billing " Troy Rauschenberger
National/International Sales at 365 Billing and Internet Consultant "
Troy Rauschenberger - LinkedIn

That guy is either one of the most unlucky people out there and everything he does turns to shit or he is part of the problem. Either way I would pass on any company he is involved with.

Here is a winner: John DuffyCEO at 3Cinteractive

Past Owner at IBILL

John Duffy - LinkedIn

John Duffy was also the CEO at 365 Billing with Mark Smith also listed online as the President who also was previously with iBill as vice president of sales. iBill, DuoCash Ink Exclusive Online Payment System Agreement

365 billing Incorporated by Todd Moran 365 Billing, LLC Company Profile - Located in Deerfield Beach, FL - Todd Moran - Registered Agent Todd Moran Who was VP of sales at Ibill: Todd Moran - LinkedIn

Here is a good bit of info for Segpay and ties a bunch of these characters together... " Following Bender to iBill are two of his top lieutenants: Cathy Mallaney, who joins iBill as Vice President of Marketing and Todd Moran who joins iBill as Vice President of Sales. Mallaney and Moran spent eight years working alongside Bender at MCI. "

Internet Billing Company (iBill) Taps Former MCI WorldCom Executive As President And CEO | Market Wire | Find Articles at BNET

For your info that is Garrett M. Bender previous CEO of Ibill.
Cathy Mallaney = Cathy Beardsley VP and CEO of Ibill (now segpay CEO )
Todd Moran previous VP of ibill who listed as person who Incorporated 365billing.
John Duffy (who claims he was an owner of ibill) and listed as CEO of 365billing.
ALL worked at MCI.

Here is the people who went from ibill - segpay:

Officers and Directors of SegPay:

PRESIDENT: Catherine Beardsley: worked at Ibill as a VP of marketing for many years and became the CEO the last year or so before the company shut down.

VICE PRESIDENT: David Wells: worked at Ibill and was said to be a "princple". So i am guessing that means he was a partner or had some form of ownership ?

OWNER of SegPay: Chris Williams: Former Head of Ibill EU (owner prior to the Nats purchase of segpay)

naa.... none of these people float around.

Try... Try... and Try again. What do they have to lose when they are playing with our money.

Bhunter 01-20-2011 04:02 PM

MasterM 01-20-2011 04:18 PM

using segpay here from the 1st moment .

What is more amazing is seeing the people who don't give a shit about what you find.

silverfox24 10-19-2011 05:47 AM

Well I had no idea about all this, thanks Will76 for the heads up, I will move to another billing provider now, dont want to do business with scumbags in any way.....

I am having problems lately with my stats and payments and support does not reply to me 2 weeks!

After reading all this, does not surprise me now.

Found this that is a brief story of ibill: http://www.oregonherald.com/n/specia...pany-fraud.htm

Really amazing that Cathy Beardsley and Chris Williams(owner) did not go to jail for all this.....

Chris Williams seems to own eroticpleasures.net/kelli.net also, I will pull all traffic from them and suggest fellow webmasters to do the same.

DamianJ 10-19-2011 05:53 AM

I wouldn't put a high risk IPSP as your secondary in the cascade. I would go Epoch -> CCBill -> A cheap one like segpay.

I find Epoch's throughput and rebills are better than CCBill.

silverfox ~ Please get in touch with us directly. No other mercharts are having these issues. Seems like you are trying to stir the pot.

2MuchMark 10-19-2011 07:09 AM

We have been using Segpay for a long time now and love them. Cathy, Brenda and the whole group have been very helpful to us and we've never had a single bad issue with them ever.

Will76: Every time a Segpay thread pops up you are always there to point out a very old connection to a very old issue. It's time to give it a rest. Segpay has proven themselves to me and to others here. If you don't like them and don't plan to use them thats your business but you aren't helping anyone with posts like those.

I encourage everyone shopping for a biller to contact all the big ones : CCBill, Epoch, Zombaio and especially Segpay to ask all the questions they have to help them find the best provider for them. iBill is the past - leave them there.

Silverfox: I would urge you not to make such a decision until you talk to people at Segpay first. We have been working with them for a long time and have had no problems whatsoever. I've had prompt replies to my emails and I'm very sure I've tested Brenda's patience more than once via ICQ :) . Seriously, they are very helpful. I'd give them a second chance before switching if I were you.

Kenny B! 10-19-2011 08:22 AM

We get our wires like clockwork and haven't had any issues with Segpay, I'm with Mark on this one.
