MTV's 'Skins': Will It Break CP Laws?

Quote:

The executives ordered the producers to make changes to tone down some of the most explicit content.

They are particularly concerned about the third episode of the series, which is to be broadcast Jan. 31. In an early version, a naked 17-year-old actor is shown from behind as he runs down a street. The actor, Jesse Carere, plays Chris, a high school student whose erection -- assisted by erectile dysfunction pills -- is a punch line throughout the episode.

I tried watching the premiere of this show and it was so boring...

Welcome to 1980:

When mainstream does it, it's perfectly fine.

carzygirls 01-20-2011 02:17 PM

Basketball diaries had a bunch of teenage sex and drugs and never heard that film associated with CP... people are just anal nowadays and can't depict thru film the truth about HS teenagers without some group firing CP pellets from their arse :(

Agent 488 01-20-2011 02:26 PM

it has socially redeeming qualities. porn generally does not.

ottopottomouse 01-20-2011 02:27 PM

Skins was shit, expect the remake will be even worse.

pornguy 01-20-2011 02:27 PM

I thought the Gubment was pushing to have anything sexually oriented made illegal in mainstream. Even just putting them into a kissing petting situation. What happened to that.

Tom_PM 01-20-2011 02:41 PM

It's hard to put the puke back in once it's all over the sidewalk.

Hmm.. grossed myself out a bit :1orglaugh

BIGTYMER 01-20-2011 04:18 PM

I watched like 5 minutes of it. Crap. Back to Discovery for me. :)

The British version of the show also marketed itself by manufacturing controversy.

CurrentlySober 01-21-2011 03:35 AM

I did kinda like the 1st series of the UK version... Despite being older than its target audience.

OR teenagers engage in behavior they see on tv. Take this shit off the air. The new generation of teenagers are stupid enough as it is. We don't want to keep confusing them.

Riffhard 01-21-2011 06:43 AM

That movie thirteen was pretty raunchy too. They didn't have problems though.

maxxtro 01-21-2011 06:44 AM

who gives a shit about MTV anyways?

potter 01-21-2011 08:30 AM

1. It's MTV - WGAF

2. How is that CP? Doesn't anyone know the fucking laws anymore, or does everyone just throw around the phrase CP?

3. I'm sure the whole thing is just an orchestration by MTV to drum up free press about it and get people talking (like this thread)

Then its working, look at the threads views.

V_RocKs 01-21-2011 01:22 PM

The show sounds stupid.

Barry-xlovecam 01-21-2011 03:24 PM

USC 18 §2257-A. I guess Orin Hatch will have a hissy fit. Hey, I would pay $5 to watch that :1orglaugh

Robbie 01-21-2011 03:30 PM

The only people interested in this "story" are the press. They know it generates interest and ratings.

Out here in the real world...I'm pretty sure most teens get high and fuck. Jesus...

Everybody was smoking pot by the time we were in 7th grade (I was 12) and trying to get laid (unsuccessfully)

This country needs an enema. It's getting pretty stupid. You can't dictate or legislate natural human behavior. And teenagers have always been wild and always will be. It's called "sowing your wild oats". The teens that don't do that, many times end up running wild in their twenties and fucking up their lives. Best to get the "wildness" out of the old system while you're still a teenager. You know, the way people have done it since the beginning of time.

thickcash_amo 01-21-2011 04:03 PM

isnt that pretty much what mtv is about?

Gabriel 01-21-2011 05:53 PM

You know you wanna watch

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/21/sk...n-girl-action/

pervs.

bronco67 01-21-2011 06:01 PM

That article just show how backward the censorship system really is. Everyone is making a stink about a kid being shown nude from the back, but there's no worries about the implied sexual situations between kids -- which really also shouldn't be a problem. Kids get high and fuck. The show is a reflection of what really happens.
