how do you manage stress?
How do you guys manage stress? I'm finding myself more and more stressed out lately. Not so much with work (although sometimes...) but more with real life. I have my dad visiting PL now and it has me very stressed because I have to go see him (I guess i don't HAVE to, but I should) and we never get along. I know i'm going to drive 7 hours just so he can find some reason to be disappointed or angry at me and start an arguement. Other shit lately has me stressed out too, and it all just sort of piles up.
I've got too much work to take a vacation, but even if i didn't that would be useless because I can't turn myself off. I can't just "not care" about emails from clients, etc and just leave it all behind for a week :( Any tips so I don't go grey at 26? :1orglaugh |
Regular fucking=no stress.

Be sure you get plenty of sleep. Throw in an old disney movie or listen to some chillout music.

Smoke some weed (1-2 times a week) Watch a new movie you've never seen once a week. Watch a movie you love and have seen 30+ times once a week. |

I think the problem stems from the fact there is no "after work" for me... |
Sport helps, but in my case only cardio stuff, i.e. easy running, cycling, etc. Hard workouts might be stressful too for your body.
Alcohol, smoking, drugs, unhealthy food/lifestyle normally increases stress mid- and long-term But generally, just try to avoid stressful situations in your live, don't work with clients who are obvious "trouble-makers" (you know what I mean), don't fuck insane girls, and keep a healthy distance between you and "difficult" relatives. That work's best for me :) |

I used to be way too stressed for my own good, mainly due to work. Been living in Thailand for about 20 months now though, and I love it. Everyone I talk to back home says I sound great, happy, relaxed, etc. I can feel it too. You have to be a bit more relaxed around here, or else you'll go insane. Once you get your head wrapped around how things work though, it's a great life! |
Valium and/or Marijuana

When I get stressed, I goto the local mall, and dress up in womens clohing in the store changing rooms.
The feel of the silky panties and tight skirts relax me. If I am really really stressed, I will also wet myself while wearing the clothes, and then hand them back to the assistant, dripping with piss... I dont get stressed that often though |
I think im gonna go buy some sweatpants and go for a run or start riding my bike again when the snow melts

I now do jigsaws, or post on GFY. LOL |
There is no managing stress. There is only dealing with it.

Tell your dad to fuck off...

Some organisation might help you out.
Set up a manual and a forum for your tubescripts so clients can search for answers themselves. The time you win you might use to go for a walk or something. |
Sleep well, relax often, do some yoga, meditation :)

I have a punching bag that I try to use at least once a day. The longer I use it the more relaxed I feel.

Designate some time off for you. Notify clients up front that you will be away on certain dates and do it.
Set a time of day that is your time. When that time comes, shut off icq, and step away from the pc. If a vacation is too big a step, take half days on a schedule. Get away, and go somewhere whether it is across town or 100 km away |
Why don't u try talking to your dad and tell him that he's causing stress in your life. Open a dialogue and I'm sure you guys can talk out these issues that you are having. I'm sure your dad doesn't want you to be all stressed out especially over you visiting him.
Also consider doing at least 3-4 days a week of exercise and that will really help dissolve some of the stress you're feeling. |
Actually that punching bag idea isn't half bad. My house actually has a fitting installed on the ceiling in one place for a punching bag.
|
Exercise is actually a really good one. Find someone to work out with in one way or another. Walking is good because you can carry on a conversation.
Spend some time reading as well. |
try magnesium - it really help me
