Is there an html to css converter?
links would be appreciated :thumbsup
|
how would you convert one to another?
one goes together with the other, you can't convert it. |
If I had to guess, I would say they mean inline to external. Judging from their current websites they do a lot of <font size> crap inside of tables.
Hell, maybe they mean tables to plain html styled with css...... |
I've never heard of a converter but sure would like a Dreamweaver for CSS kind of program. I find setting up a CSS site time consuming and hard. I have a site someone designed in CSS, it looks good but I can hardly edit it.

I did a search for "html to css converter" and the first link is down for maintenance, although it seems there are a couple paid apps. Maybe you should check up for that first link http://andylangton.co.uk/stuff/css-html-converter at a later time.
I would never, ever, EVER buy an app for this, you've 99% chances you will get scammed or get some crap in return, unless it's an extremely easy and dumb layout, I find it very hard to believe they'll convert html to CSS properly, chances are you'll need to fine tune your CSS anyway, so what's the point. Now, if it's free, well, you don't lose anything other than time |
i have two of them....a left one and a right one...
|
yeah bns, just basically was wanting my tables converted. optimizing the individual pages

you can convert old style html designed pages with table supported layout into div (tableless) supported layout design. There isn't good automated way to do it. Only "human converter" can do it effectively. Firstly you need to redesign graphic works to match tableless way for building pages, and after that you need to slice psd design into graphic pieces to match tableless philosophy. All graphics are coded using CSS and content is coded using (X)HTML. Only good designer/coder can do it right way. If you are willing to invest some time in learning here you go http://ebookee.org/Spring-Into-HTML-...ad_561341.html it's free download or you can buy it on amazon (search for Spring Into HTML and CSS) Install this firefox plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...web-developer/ and after install do CTRL+SHIFT+S to see what is considered as content (html) and what as design (css). http://www.csszengarden.com/ to see efects. Or you can hire someone to do it for you but please don't throw you money for any converter. That isn't proper way. Whole philosophy about splitting content and design is for easier maintaining sites (meaning you can change content, pics and text without worrying about page design), and most important for delivering clear formatted content to search engines without bother them to look into tables for content ;) (they don't give a shit about css ;) ) :2 cents: |

I used to look for converters too, but then realized, the only way to do it right, is by hand.
If it looks good in HTML, just leave it that way. CSS designs is overrated. Alot of people mention that Google spiders read CSS better for SEO, but... It's fuckin' Google. They know how to spider HTML too. :P |
sometimes i convert my gif files to animation.
