We have tried to find decent tutorials but they seem to all leave major gaps in the process. Like we should already know, or something. . . . and the developers we have found to date have been unreliable.

NaughtyRob 01-30-2011 12:15 PM

I'm just learning. Here is a bump for you.

candyflip 01-30-2011 12:23 PM

What are you trying to do? I can probably point you in the right direction.

I've done some simple stuff.

Did you use http://www.eclipse.org/ for the simple stuff? I have searched for open source for what I want to do and have not found anything that would work. What simple stuff have you done?

candyflip 01-30-2011 12:37 PM

Eclipse is a development environment that interfaces with the Android SDK.

We built a few small image gallery and rss feed display type apps.

jkthedesigner 01-30-2011 12:59 PM

If it's non-adult, I have a friend who has developed quite a few.

SZNY 01-30-2011 01:05 PM

I thought that also Android doesn't allow adult in their App stores, today I registered girlsonandroid.com still have no clue what to do with it

Not everything is what it seems on the surface.

"suggestive" Apps are allowed, no hardcore though. for that you can go to Mikandi or simply put them on your own site. Which is compared to Apple no problem.

crazytrini85 01-30-2011 01:37 PM

We're been building apps since day one for the Android system.

What exactly are you looking for? Adult or main stream?

baddog 01-30-2011 02:06 PM

I am sorry, for obvious reasons I am not going to say what the app should do or what we are going to do with it on GFY.

Interested droid programmers please email me at Lbrown at gotwebhost dot com Subject: Droid programming.

Please include examples of your work. Thanks

Barry-xlovecam 01-30-2011 02:38 PM

try #sudo apt-get install eclipse

:)

munki 01-30-2011 03:27 PM

Most of the android white papers assume a strong backing in java already be in place. Has anyone worked with the SDK outside of eclipse yet? Played with the app builder a bit, but was almost to simplistic for me to imagine kicking out the kind of apps I would find useful.

st0ned 01-30-2011 03:52 PM

Bump for good info.

I have been looking for a good mobile development company myself.

The first test I conduct is the ability to follow instructions. TIA

Their app program for dummies assumes you are a really smart dummy ;)

Then it is missing just about every function you would want.

If they added a simple TCP socket it'd make it 1,000,000 times more useful then it is now.

grumpy 01-31-2011 12:46 AM

why android, why not html5. Works on all and system independent

Fob 01-31-2011 01:36 AM

Are you guys looking for a cheap developer or premium programming work?
