re: INCEPTION

did all go as planned? did Cobb wake up in the real world and got to be with his kids?

If he did not, and still stayed in the dream world, he would have to be 5 levels deep. Who and how could possibly put him in there?

AzteK 02-01-2011 12:49 PM

I don't know, did he :)? The top never stopped spinning as far as we know when he got to his "family"...who knows how many levels deep he really was. He was a junky.

brassmonkey 02-01-2011 12:49 PM

that movie sucked donkey ballz

WebairGerard 02-01-2011 12:52 PM

I say he's in a dream state.

PornGreen 02-01-2011 12:52 PM

Um, you never find out how it ends. That's the point.

Now cue all the dumbasses who know what the answer is, just like they all know what's in the suitcase in Pulp Fiction, etc.

brassmonkey 02-01-2011 01:05 PM

i think he was stuck in the dream cause if i remember right he needed to spin that top thing.

CaptainHowdy 02-01-2011 01:11 PM

The idea is to keep you guessing, that's all...

bronco67 02-01-2011 01:12 PM

It doesn't matter. They call it one of those ambiguous endings.

in a dream you only have significant points during anything so you fit more in to an amount of time.

That's what a lot of people think.

But here's my view on it:

In the movie, in the dream, the spinner(from the safe) was spinning very solid. It would NOT wobble AT ALL.
In the movie, in the real world, the spinner would wobble and topple over.

At the end of the movie you don't see it topple over, but you DO see it wobble. Therefore, he's in the real world.

Ambiguity => discussion => free publicity

Also, its just kind of boring to resolve a plot. That's for lesser films. Whoever doesn't have the imagination to run with the movies ideas -- they're just fucking lazy and should stay home and watch CSI.

I'm not even saying I'm smart enough to understand exactly what happened -- but I enjoyed trying to figure it out. Some people get mad when a movie doesn't spoon feed the answers to them.

* Marsellus Wallace's soul.

wait,

* The Oscar Tarantino hoped to win.

um...

* a human head.

maybe it was...

* the ear from Reservoir Dogs.

no, it had to be...

* O.J.'s other glove.

or perhaps...

* M.J.'s other glove.

fuck, now i'm thinking it's...

* the diamonds from the robbery in Reservoir Dogs.

oh, wait...I got it!

* Rudolph's nose.

That doesn't matter. The time dilation is only a rule for the movie.

However people concerned about the very end of the movie (Is it all a dream? Is Cobb still dreaming? Will the top stop spinning?) etc are all missing the point. There's more to discover than Cobb's state of consciousness.
