Pay Pal Pain in the Ass
 

So, I have had PayPal for about 6 years, but not used it for about a year or so, but had the need to use it again last week.
I make one small payment for about $15.00 and it goes through no problem, so then I make another payment for $300.00. It tells me that I cannot make that payment as my card needs to be validated. the fact that it was validated 6 years ago is obviously irrelevant to them.
Now I have to ask them to validate the card, which means they are going to send a small credit into my own bank account with a 4 pin code attached, then I have to go back into their site and type the code in, time interval 3 days. Yea OK, bit of a pain in the ass, but whatever.

I duly comply and install the code, so now I can use my card to make the transaction that I want to make.... Wrong!
Now they tell me I have to validate my bank account.... hang on a fuckin minute, they are going to send me 2 small credits into my bank account, with a 4 pin code attached blah blah blah.

Surely, if I had to get the 4 pin code for the goddam card from my bank account and enter into their site, its pretty fuckin evident that its my bank account or I would not have access, so why do the whole thing all over again, and, have to wait another 5 days!!!

Then they e.mail me and tell me its an anti money laundering and security issue..... MONEY LAUNDERING??? $300.00??? what sort of piss poor drug or arms dealer is laundering $300.00?

Or, I can transfer money from my bank account into my PayPal account and wait 7 - 9 days, but they will accept it from my bank account.......... that is not validated....

Come on, your taking the piss PayPal!!

KYC rules have gotten tighter over the years, and if you haven't used the Paypal account in that long, it's perfectly normal for them to re-validate you. And they do validate cards separately from bank accounts.

You mean your card didn't expire in those 6 years?

Also, how are they supposed to know that your card is linked to your checking account? Lots of cards aren't.

Exactly. How can you expect Paypal to know that you have the card and your account connected? If it was a credit card it wouldn't have been connected and it's abit too much to ask for their system being able to detect the differences. So no, bank account is separately verified and then debit/credit cards separately too.

Now bend over, spread your legs, clench your teeth and Gaypal promises he will be quick...

They are anal about everything nowadays it seems.

Its the bank account Visa debit card, same number as registered with them previously, it can only be used with that account, and I had no problem re-validating the card after not using for for the past year or so, I can understand that they might want confirmation etc.

However, you wait 3 days for the card to be verified, then after that they tell you they want to verify the bank account which is going to take another 5 days. Why not just tell you at the offset that you need to verify both and save the time.

As to GayPal, I would suggest that he sticks it in his own rear.

And their automatic voice phone service is annoying.

Actually, I just had a very positive experience with PayPal Thailand. They actually have thai hours and I had some funds held in my thai account, was able to call and the problem was resolved immediately. (knocks on wood)

The scams wouldn't exist if they were not profitable. So it means that stupid, uneducated westerners do click, buy, sign up or order via these shady fuckers en masse and thus encurage them to carry on.

PayPal is a huge pain in the ass IMO.

Paypal is a ball buster.
