The Brotherhood's stated goal is to instill the Qur'an and Sunnah as the "sole reference point for ... ordering the life of the Muslim family, individual, community ... and state".[3] Since its inception in 1928 the movement has officially opposed violent means to achieve its goals

who wants to do a comparison of religions since 1928, and who is responsible for what.

which was backed with 1,5 billion USD per year by the US

but also most other western countries paid money to dictators in eqypt, tunesia etc. cause they kept peace in that area. nobody cared how they treat their people.

like it also used to work with Iraq till someone fucked it up

Agent 488 02-02-2011 10:09 AM

there is no one leading it. the protesters are from all segments of society. there is a large secular population in egypt. to say it is a radical muslim revolution IS propaganda.

this isn't bad insight into the mind of an average protester.

Western countries would be delighted if all those countries got their shit together and became democracies or a reasonable facsimile thereof - but until then dictators are the lesser of two evils.

that's a philosophical question - should we grant freedom of choice only to those who we think deserve it?

and would we grant them the same right to financially and morally back a government or organization on your soil that you don't agree with?

Odd how the President and Secretary of state called for democratic elections then and Israel is pissed off at the US administration for doing so.

MetaMan 02-02-2011 10:49 AM

This group already said they are not looking to seize power in Egypt. So wtf is your point? They are an outside group who is used to stabilize against any and all rulers of Egypt. They are a party outside the system.

Think of them similar to the Michigan militia. Or the thousands of militias in America. These groups are not looking to seize control. They are "buffer" as i would put it.

Stop believing Israel run American TV Mutt. It is hilarious.

says who?

The west puts in power whoever support their interest. When countries have a democracy for the people (unlike the USA) they put in a dictator. When the dictator cannot be bought they try to fund "democracy" which ends up being fascism. That can be bought.

are you having trouble understanding? go turn on more Israel TV.

Look up the Shah of Iran. Why did the USA allow him to seek refuge for him and his family? (he is dead now)

put the pieces together. The west supports democracy? What a joke.

all the west cares about is having some one in power they can control, doesn't matter if they brutalize their own people as long as the U.S. can control the
person in power.
Obviously the people of Egypt are fed up with the situation, and it's their right to put who ever they want in power.

you live in a country fabulously rich in national resources, with no military to speak of to defend itself - why hasn't this evil monster you call the United States of America invaded or installed a puppet Prime Minister backed by US funds?

you are correct that the US backs some despicable people to protect its own interests but you saw what happened in Iran after the Shah was thrown out. Ayatollah Khomeni.

because our leaders happily volunteer to do the wishes of the US. no bribes, blackmail or threats needed.

comparing the iranian revolution and egypt is apples and oranges.

What does anything I say have to do with Canada? I already know Canada is a puppet for the USA. This is exactly why we don't have a large military or a need to defend our resources. So there is no argument there.

Canada already is USAs top importer for oil. So yes the puppet leaders do work for the USA.

"Evil monster" USA? Not at all. I love the USA, Dad is a citizen, love the people there etc etc. I'm just calling it like i see it. The American people themselves are not evil people. But the USA government uses mass propaganda to pervert the people into supporting causes to convince them to believe are righteous.

I am just pointing out the political game. It is easy to pass off people as "crazed" Muslims, but if you look at who and why they back certain people it ends up making sense.

I believe most things are 2 sides of the same coin these days. The entire "job" of politicians and people in power is to corrupt and seek control. They do this via propaganda, religion etc etc.

MetaMan 02-02-2011 11:12 AM

To add in turn you have to realize why the USA is a puppet for Israel. And how the interests and propaganda machine work in the USA. Most Canadians will probably admit our leaders are puppets. The USA citizens seem to be convinced that their "democracy" is the one calling the shots. That is the problem. That is why you are more easily manipulated and controlled. Your population has this relentless belief that your "elected" officials always do the good of the country.

MaDalton 02-02-2011 11:16 AM

i have no idea how the whole thing is presented on american tv, but here i see many many regular young egypt people, guys and girls, who are fed up with their dictator. none of them looks like a radical muslim, the girls don't wear scarfes etc.

Agent 488 02-02-2011 11:20 AM

yes watch the al jazeera feed. pretty straight up and unbiased. the american pro-israel media is trying turn this into a jihad revolution as usual.

Exactly, this is not a Muslim revolution. There is Christians, Muslims, poor, rich, women, men, students, workers etc. it is everyone as Egyptians.

The people have solidarity it is amazing.
