Why is it, that on 'To Catch A Predator'...
When the film crew come in, half way through Chris talking to the guy, theres always some clown waving a boom microphone about?
The cameras, I can understand as they use some of the cam footage... But the sound has been perfect anyway throughout, so the boom mic cant actually be being used... I wonder if they have realised this yet, and if the mic guy is a perv himself, just 'hanging around' ? :helpme :1orglaugh |
because there are probably hidden mic's under the table or whatever, if the guy runs they need the boom while chasing him down

For starters.... if you are already THAT deep, you are better off beating some people down before the police rush in on you. Go out in a full blaze of glory and kick Chris Hanson's ass.
Secondly, who brings condoms? Seriously. |
so you all think all is fake?
|
The District Attorney in Texas who killed himself, fearing being exposed by Chris Hanson, sure didn't think it was fake.
Neither does the attorney's estate that is suing Chris Hanson and NBC. |
It's to intimidate the person into leaving. Lights, cameras, boom mikes, everything.

Didn't someone from here get busted? The "my cat died" guy?

Its part of the "show" of it all. Makes it look like much more of a big production, for the pedo and the viewers

Is it a union film crew? If so, then maybe it's a union requirement?
More likely though, as others have said, it's all for show - even news and documentaries are considered entertainment. Something many people don't realize. "To Catch a Predator" made for great entertainment, but wasn't much help in regards to reducing true harm to children. Many of the stings had that entrapment feel... To digress a bit, while the stings were often technically legal, they were sketchy - many of the cases were later thrown out, especially for those who did not talk (some of those people who kept their mouths shut were never even shown on TV, since they weren't entertaining enough). The show was on borrowed time from a liability / PR perspective and the producers knew it - likely amazed it lasted as long it did. Ron |
