What periodicals do you guys subscribe to?

What periodicals do you guys subscribe to? What's good, what's not? Is it even worth it to subscribe to some weekly magazine, when you can get up to the minute info on the net?

I won a PhotoMagazine subscription in a photo contest so I receive this magazine every month. Boring, if you ask me. I need interaction :)

The economist.

Game Informer because I can spend $15, get the magazine, discounts on used games and most importantly it shuts up the sales person at Gamestop from giving me his sales line each time I go in.

Scientific American, Discover, and MAD.

I subscribe to the first two out of habit - grew up in the age of magazines. I don't renew them continuously, but rather on and off depending on the specials running...

I could probably get them for nothing through some websites, but paying $10 or so per year for each is cheap enough so I don't bother with the freebie places; not really free, since they ask for a lot of info and often sell it to everyone under the sun.

The last one, MAD, I collect those and hence want the physical edition. I will likely never have to renew it, because I had just started a new 24 edition term when MAD switched to quarterly extending my subscription into 2013 ... the magazine part will likely be closed by then and become web-only, at which point I'll never bother with MAD again beyond continuing to collect the old print editions.

Magazines... blah.

Best way to get up to date information, in any niche that you're interested in, is to use a feed reader, like google reader. Subscribe to blogs that talk about the niches you like - some serious gurus giving out amazing information, all over the place. I subscribe to seo blogs, money, investing, marketing, anything I'm interested in or want to research.

I scan through roughly 3,000 articles a month, reading whatever catches my eye... giving me the most up to date information in whatever I'm interested in, instantly.

None now, but if I do again it will be WallStreetJournal and FinancialTimes.

For some reason Rolling Stone just started coming to house. It's been interesting reading really.
