getting a PS3, what are some good games?
 

hi, im getting a PS3 (because i need a blueray player), what are some good games that i can grab :)

As for the exclusives I really liked Resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet&Clank series, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid, Killzone and Gran Turismo :)

Depends on what you like really.

Black Ops is an obvious choice (even tho it has it's flaws).

I play mostly sports games though! Never get tired of Fifa 11...

Fuck Black Ops. I've been hooked on Bad Company 2 and won't ever play a COD game again.

God of War 3 is EPIC.

I just can't get into Gran Turismo at all.

I just don't enjoy the races. The tracks and cars are nice etc, but i just don't find the game fun at all !

Race Driver GRID for me is what a racing car game should be about...

It al depends if you want a racing simulator, an arcade racer or some hybrid...

There are some great games out there. However I find xbox for the most part does games better than the ps3. I rarely ever use my ps3 for more than a blu ray player.

Personally, I have a PS3 for the great Exclusives.

Besides, I regularly play half the Xbox 'exclusives' on PC.

MetaCritic reviews on PS3 exclusives are typically higher than 360 reviews when compared.
I wonder why.

I can only think of 2 Xbox Exclusives... Halo and Gears of War.
Typically, I have a hard time knowing any others as they are usually on PC.

Yeah i know, and i thought i did want a 'proper' simulator, but i just don't enjoy playing it...

I think the Uncharted games are pretty damn amazing and like someone else said, Heavy Rain is AMAZING, the gameplay is a little different and some might find it boring, but I think the whole way the storyline is played out, kept me playing it till I beat it. Even my wife watched me play it, like she was watching a movie.

TBH I thought Uncharted was incredible lame and offered absolutely nothing new to the genre and failed on just about every point... The most highly overrated game in years, I think PS3 owners just wanted something to be happy about...

modern warfare and modern warfare 2 are both good.

still play parts of modern warfare 2 all the time.

Battlefield Bad Company 2, Gran Turismo 5 & GTAIV are pretty good games.

I usually keep only games I like and resell games I dont use

Bought a ps3 only for GT5

I only play red dead redemption on my ps3 and occasionally the black ops, but BO is so fuckin flawed that i wish i could just have my money back.

Get God of War series. Part 3 was made for PS3, but parts 1 and 2 are HD updates from ps2. All three together is one epic story of blood, guts and sex.

Uncharted series. Something to do before you die. It's really that good.

Dead Space is available for all platforms, but I wanted to give that a mention. Part 2 just came out.

Sounds like that review has some liberal axe to grind.

Anyway, when 99% of people like something, and you don't -- it doesn't make you genius. Trust me, you're not the lone smart person that has it all figured out. It's a fact that Uncharted is a great game, and the OP shouldn't listen to what you say.

Black Ops. Only game I really play right now on my PS3 even tho I have bought 8 new games in 6 months.

Gran Turismo is alright, nothing hugely special, I enjoy playing. FIFA is always a great choice. I'm gonna be NBA at the weekend and try get into that.

Pain in the fucking ass. Amazing how they let this happen to the game, and now don't care since they made their money, and have moved on.

People should remember this before buying the next installment from them... :2 cents:
