F1 Robert Kubica - right hand was partially severed
 

Don't think he'll be racing in F1 this season after his crash yesterday.

Pretty nasty looking wreck. Those rally courses are always super tight and dangerous.

They apparently saved it in surgery but they dont' know if it will recover full function yet.

Odd considering the damage to the car doesn't look half as bad as some of the crashes he has experienced on the F1 circuit.

His rally car was pentrated, just a danger of the job!

Heard about it yesterday, absolutely nuts. I can't seem to find any clips of the actual crash though

Oh, I initially read he hit a wall and the pic of the car didn't look all that bad. Of course it looked like a cell phone pic.

Tis a shame. I reckon he was the most impressive driver of 2010. Constantly preformed well in a lesser car than the big boys.

Depends on the angle of the pic you get, theres some on youtube that show the car from the front and you can see a massive hole where the armcove has gone into the cockpit. lucky lucky man!

So why was he rally driving before the start of a new F1 season again ??

It's his hobby and one of the apparant terms in his contract with renault was that he could pursue this in his spare time, renault and kubica knew the possible consequences.

And with the ban on F1 testing its one of the only chances he gets to hone he skills, besides on the simulator.

poor bloke has gotta under-go surgery later this week.
would be a real shame if renault have built him a monster of a car and he cant drive it, he's always been one of my future world champ picks

Very rare situation, especially this close to the start of the season, usually they do like triathlons or bike riding, kimi raikkonen used to do ski-mobile races
