Why no app store for AppleTV?
 

You would think apple would have done the app store for AppleTV by now and just drop a bomb on the TV market. I have an apple TV (old one with drive) and it's kinda worthless till you put Boxee or something else on it.

I would imagine the only reason apple hasn't put Apps on is because NetFlix would immediately toss an App on to obliterate Apple's movie rentals/sales? Can't be many more explanations other than this, and they can't reject em since it would be a slam dunk anti-trust case.

would be nice... i have the new model..
but not sure how well existing apps would do on an hdtv..
just look at how some of the iphone apps look in ipad.... shitty..
or how angry birds looks on ps3.. shitty..
devs would have to make special versions..
plus new model doesnt have any storage i believe..

plus would you really want to play games with that fucking remote?
i use my ipad to control it as much as i can.. fuck that useless remote.

it's ok for netflix (which is built in btw) (though my ps3 and 360 do it better)... and accessing my itunes library which was the main reason i bought it.

I have the new model and I love it.

it´s fantastic to accessing all my itunes music and pictures library..
I control it with my ipad or iphone. You can watch youtube on the tv
with a few clicks.

The applications idea is really good..
I´m sure that they will make a few in the next upgrade..

The remote control is pure art: it´s one piece of aluminum. Simple and beautiful.

What I'm really wanting to know is why haven't they fixed the ATV Wifi issues? I key in the password that takes me fucking 5 minutes to do... and 8 hours later I have to do it AGAIN...

And the next day I go to use the device, I have to do it AGAIN...

And 8 hours later, AGAIN...

The only solution is to drag a Cat-5 cable across my living room and hardwire that shit.

I'm sick of it. The issue has been mentioned countless times on the Apple.com forums and there's been no acknowledgement of the problem, and no announcement of a fix. Apple phone support doesn't even have it logged as a "known issue" in their database. WTF Apple!
