Gimme input on mainstream site I'm working on

This has nothing to do with adult, but it does have to do with web design.

I'm creating a site for a client right now, and in an attempt to get completely away from Flash I have whole-heartedly embraced jQuery. What do you guys think? I could really use some feedback, been working on this puppy for a few days now.

Thanks for any input,

PS: Some of you might recognize my (previously) fucked up png's from the thread I posted earlier about fixing png's in IE.

Oh I forgot to say "Please"! :)

main page needs a default category selection so it is not blank-ish/just a nav

do in ajax and remove all flash

add display ads from http://nonadult.com

Thanks.

There is no flash, 100% css / js / jquery.

Yep 100% needs a list of text under each category, start with that opened. I honestly say there thinking more was going to load.

A site should be about content and show some kind of content off the bat.

Yeah, you need some content on the home page, and a quick note somewhere saying the nav menu is actually a nav menu.

I spent 5 seconds staring at a black page, waiting for the page to finish loading. When I realized it had loaded, I just assumed there was some Javascript / CSS problem with Firefox compatibility.

Failed in IE8

What do you mean, exactly?

Thanks for all the input about needing a homepage, you guys are right, I got too artsy fartsy / minamilistic there for a minute. :)

Well said, I also stared at the screen and thought what the fuck?

the design is very nice. I really like it.

I hope you're planning on filling the blank area on the front page?

Young 02-08-2011 11:52 PM

The worst thing about Flash wasn't that it was Flash.

The worst thing about Flash is what web designers decided to do with it.

You took all of those bad things and recreated it using Javascript and CSS.

What the fuck happened to simplicity? It's a website that is showcasing photography. Let the pictures speak for themselves. The whole site is fucking distracting.

Delete everything. Get some inspiration at the following link:

Start over.
