Adult film company shoots porno at public park on island near Miami Beach

An adult film company's version of fun in the sun - the filming of a porno movie in a public park near Miami Beach - has city officials fuming.

The skin flick titled "Island Adventure" and produced by RealityKings.com, was shot in broad daylight on Monument Island and used a 110-foot obelisk as the backdrop, the Miami Herald reported.

Miami Beach officials were less than thrilled by the film, which features characters such as "Captain Stabbin" and a redhead named "Brooklyn."

"This is not an uninhabited island miles off the coast," Assistant City Manager Hilda Fernandez told the Herald. "It's in the middle of a very busy bay. You can't go filming pornos in public parks."

The monument that appears in the movie is the Flagler Memorial, dedicated to oil baron Henry Flagler, who's credited with helping develop South Florida. Just two years ago, taxpayers approved a $1 million restoration project for the memorial.

Area historian Seth Bramson called the smut peddlers disrespectful.

"They should not be desecrating that island," Bramson said. "It's hallowed ground."

But Lawrence Walters, a lawyer for the film company, said his clients did nothing wrong.

"It was apparently produced on a deserted island with no people around to witness the filming," Walters said, adding that RealityKings.com were "good corporate citizens" that give to charity.

The official in charge of approving film permits for Miami Beach, Graham Winick, however, disagreed.

"I can say without even looking in my files that we did not permit that," said Winick.

HAHAHA awesome promo.

True enough. There been lots of porn taped on that island over the years. You can't buy that kind of publicity for RK. Good on them. Of course, all the neighbors homes are worth several billion dollars each so they get bent out shape easily!

I'm starting to wonder if people who can read news even bother to surf porn.

They could be in serious trouble if charges get filed. Shooting anything even remotely adult in a public park can land you in very hot water. Hope they're making some decent money off of the publicity because they might need it for a good defense!

For some reason I think RK has plenty of dough, before and after this article.

We will see the fall out if Miami puts the hammer on them and how much it costs them in legal fees before I would call this a success.

Their attorney should be shot for allowing them to do this if he knew about it.

If you guys all think this is a great way to "drive up sales" then why isn't everyone out doing it ??

we wont know exact numbers either way ( extra sales generated from publicity nor costs for attorney fees) but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose on the deal. These days, people will read about them and like their content they just going to go to a tube site to find it vs buying. Not the "publicity" return of years past for pr stunts. It's definitely less roi now then it was before, investment being all the legal fees they could be paying.

again if this is such a great money making stunt, why isn't other programs that shoot their own content running out to get themselves in trouble?

if rk can get out of the crosshairs out of the music industry for using unlicensed music i'm sure they can dodge this bullet (which isn't even illegal if no one saw).

What is Walters thinking.... " they did nothing wrong" I know he wants to come to the defense of his clients but if he was telling me I would be doing nothing wrong by doing what they did I would fire him. They went on state owned land and shot a porn video. Put aside the "porn" aspect of it and you couldn't go produce any movie or video there without permits / permission. Now throw in the porn aspect and you just itching to piss someone off who can then turn around and use the vague "obscenity" charge and take it to a jury. What does the DA or city have to lose, tax payers money LOL. What does RK have to lose, tons of money defending themselves and possibly jail time.

You people in this industry never fail to remind me (almost daily) how fucking stupid most of you are.

Rock on! great promo dudes!! we should all go fuck in public parks and shit and get in trouble so we can make some sales... Kewl!!! /morons
