First Egypt, now Iran. Think they have a chance?

Or is this all going to end in tears like 2009 for them?

So everybody now want to change the stuff?!

MetaMan 02-14-2011 04:47 PM

LOL i love how certain muslim countries that support the USA are "counter terrorism partners" and the others are "terrorist states".

closer 02-14-2011 05:11 PM

Bahrain hasn't succeeded yet. Iran definitely will not.

The Revolutionary guard support the government. They will fire on the public.

Wilbo 02-14-2011 05:36 PM

Those old bearded guys who run Iran won't hesitate to kill protesters to keep themselves in power. They don't play that shit.

Rochard 02-14-2011 05:42 PM

It's only a matter of time... These people are pissed. And they are pissed at their own governments.

:2 cents:

Iran will probably just "go China" on them, i.e., shoot first and ask questions later (and say "who cares" to the outraged international community)

Vendzilla 02-14-2011 08:32 PM

Think of it this way, these are the oldest countries in the world, they have been buried in this shit for centuries and they are for the first time seeing a light at the end of a tunnel they didn't even know existed

DEA - banned for life 02-14-2011 08:36 PM

the internet has changed the world...the youth of today want wii's ,facebook,twitter,porn...freedom

not as easy to convince a 15 year old to die for allah when all we wants to do is to see the new justin bieber or lady gaga video on youtube....

Dodododa 02-14-2011 08:46 PM

LOL. No. There will just be a lot of dead bodies in the streets. The Egyptian army are far more civilized.

Seth Manson 02-14-2011 09:49 PM

This will end badly.

BusterBrown 02-14-2011 09:51 PM

Lock & Load time..........................

Barry-xlovecam 02-14-2011 10:08 PM

The Greens will unfortunately find that they must be willing to die for what they believe in.

Freedom can have a bitter price at times. Is the dream of freedom worth your life or is it better to live as a slave? That is the difference between a *protester* and a freedom fighter ? conviction.

7000 or so years and this is as far as they've made it. :Oh crap

Says something about that region of the world. :2 cents:

Bahrain has great hookers

Rangermoore 02-15-2011 12:43 AM

HBKKH 02-15-2011 01:10 AM

Redrob 02-15-2011 01:16 AM

Iran will be a hard nut to crack.

Not quite. They were inventing algebra, charting the heavens, etc. when your ancestors were still eating their boogers.

Islam was not invented then yet.

And they STILL have not evolved enough to have a civil society. That just adds insult to injury.

12clicks 02-15-2011 08:26 AM

I'm all for the muslim revolution.
you don't have to worry so much about collateral damage when the offending government was voted into power.

cwd 02-15-2011 08:28 AM

hard to see it happening in iran.

Kiopa_Matt 02-15-2011 08:32 AM

Nope, Iran won't succeed, at least not yet. The protest movement there has to get WAY stronger and more organized in order to topple the government.

The government would prefer to mow down 10,000 civilians with machine guns, while giving the international community the middle finger, before they'll relinquish power.

dazzling 02-15-2011 08:47 AM

With a bit of luck these "Democracy" protesters will do the same as the "Democracy" protesters in Egypt...overthrow the democratically elected government, get a military regime to take control, that will cancel the elections and give a promise to hold some election in the future, but dont know when, tear up the constitution, ban any more protests, and some obscure promise about reform in some unknown time. Yep, you got to hand it to those democracy protesters in Egypt, they really got a good deal for the Egyptian people.

Vendzilla 02-15-2011 09:09 AM

I for one hope this takes over the middle east, even if Barry will somehow get credit. If the people start running things instead of the governments, then this world stands a chance and I will message the mother ship not to blow up this arm pit of the galaxy!

Religion does not have such a great track record once it gets control. Thus, we also have the dark ages to examine.

Currently, Islam enjoys its access to technology, but is slow to teach enlightenment principles and science because it is corrosive to their religious beliefs.

So, yeah. I was just commenting that there was a time when that region of the world was leading innovation and understanding, when most other parts of the world were mired in various forms of ignorance and stupidity.

Scott McD 02-15-2011 01:24 PM

It will all end in FAIL !! :2 cents:

It shows that cultural evolution is not linear, which is what you originally implied about that part of the world.

Agent 488 02-15-2011 01:32 PM

iran's role in the next eastern world order of the china/russia/indian/south american axis will be what israel played in the middle east for the western world order.

they will be the last to fall but who knows, we live in a time of increasing novelty.

DateDoc 02-15-2011 01:46 PM

Iran will be a tough nut to crack but if there is enough support they can do it!
