What kind of headphones or headset do you use with your computer?
I'm going crazy trying to find good headphones or headset to use with my computers.
I'm currently using a decent set from Logitech that I'm happy with, but the problem is that all of these headphones are starting to fail. The unnecessary in-line volume control on 2 of my sets has started to fail causing one of the channels to cut out, and the plastic head-mount is already broken on both sets as well. Today I purchased a new Logitech H555 headset but the sound quality isn't as good, and since it wraps behind my head instead of over the top, it's pretty uncomfortable too. Since I'm listening to music all the time while working, and my computer doubles as my phone most of the time, I'm looking for a pair that (a) has spectacular audio quality (for music), (b) has a mic, and (c) will last a couple of years. (Our logitechs last about 10 months at most). I very nice bonus would be to have the headset work wirelessly via Bluetooth for example, with a transceiver that worked on USB or iPhone connector (single 1/8" stereo + mic plug) Any help or suggestions? Can you tell me what you use? Help! |
If you use a bluetooth one with your cell phone it should work with your bluetooth enabled PC too.

I have a noise cancelling plantronics headset... It set me back about $200 but I use it a LOT... as in, 3 hours+ per day so it was well worth the dough...

Until recently, I had the Plantronics DSP400 Foldable Multimedia Headset
My puppy decided it made for a tasty snack. I have been looking also, but will probably just order another of these. |
none :) I only use my speakers...

AKG K240, bought them in 2006 or even 05 and they still perform like brand new,
great sound quality, borderline to amazing no mic, no noise canceling, large - they are considered studio monitors I try to keep wire out of chair wheels although I think I went over it few times otherwise they would be in perfect condition. Would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality sound. Would buy them again or similar newer model although I would also look at surround sound headphones too next time when i'm shopping |
Go with a corded set. Sony MDR 7506. These sound awesome!

I have a few cheap pairs of Skullcandy headphones because my kids like to break them. They have a Lifetime Warranty and have replaced more than a few pairs for me.

I'm using a Turtle Beach EarForce X11 and it's the best one yet.

My wife bought me the Logitech G35 headset for Christmas. I love it. Volume control is on the left ear along with mic control and dolby surround control. If you're so inclined you can make the bass hit so hard it makes your eyes blurry.

I have a set of BOSE over the ear headphones that I use. No mic so may not be great for you, but IMHO if you want good sound quality for music etc, you will probably have to forgo the built in mic and use a separate mic

I bought some over the ear Skullcandy's and looove them. Best bargain for what you pay IMO. Mine don't have a mic but they sell some with a mic.
