Mr. Rogers doesn't teach entitlement. Mr. Rogers doesn't say "You're Special so everything you want in life will automatically come to you", Mr. Rogers teaches kids self esteem. He tells them "You're special, you can do anything in life you put your mind to."

tlc wasn't around when i and i assume, your kid was growing up. i watched seasme street, mr dress up, not so much mr rogers but still, its children's programming. its for kids. they are going to address basic issues like that. i don't see it as hurting at all. and yes, it should be taught by the parents but a lot of parents are bad parents and don't have self esteem themselves, nor know how to 'teach' it. just because it wasn't for you doesn't mean its not for everyone.

Duh. What kind of messages should television shows for children contain if they aren't supposed to use any that the parents are supposed to teach their children? To the kids who have shitty parents and don't get this message, there is at least *something* out there for them and to the kids who parents teach them all the good values/principals in life, having the message in programming the child may or may not be watching doesn't hurt.

I never said the guy should have been taken off the air, just that I had no intention of my kid ever having anything to do with him.
