Silver is going much much higher. Most people who "own silver" do not actually have physical silver. More and more people are demanding physical silver and once the critical mass of people realize they need to get it delivered and store it themselves the price is going to go through the roof. Large investors are already having issues getting their orders filled in a timely manner.

Problem with silver is that it is bulky so storing it in a bank safety deposit box is not an option. And storing it in banks is not safe anymore now that the police state is taking over.:2 cents:

Gold will most likely not be as profitable in the long term but at least you can store a large $ amount in a shoe box so it is easy to hide.

Man this is cool!!!!! I have a shit ton of it!! :banana

Nicky 02-17-2011 02:49 PM

It might take a dip down to the neck-line at ~27 in the coming months though.

PurrrsianPussyKat 02-17-2011 05:49 PM

So glad I got in when it was $10-12. :)

Remember the golden ratio 1:16. It will always go back to being close to that. It has for more than just a few centuries. If I had the money to make large investments, I would buy some when it drops again. It should within 8 months

$750,000 in silver stolen from home

Two robbers dressed as cops force man to give up combination to his vault

A Chilliwack man was punched, stabbed and tied up by homeinvading thieves who made off with his life savings in silver bars.

The two thugs, wearing what he described as fake police uniforms, unloaded his vault and spirited away $750,000 in silver the man had bought as an investment last year.

The 52-year-old victim, still shaken by the Feb. 9 robbery at his Imperial Street home, now wonders who among his friends or acquaintances is behind the brazen midday theft.

Bought $10k at $24.35, does this come as a shock to anybody? Silver has always had more upside than gold which was both overbought and oversold.

There is no golden rule. Silver already had a correction and it's not dropping anytime soon.. Keep dreaming.

Everyone's a (liar) prophet. They all come out of the woodwork to tell you about the tens of thousands they invested in Gold when it was $100 or Silver when it was $1. They rarely ever mention it at the time.

Everyone investing into gold, and is the shit really hits the fan with war and the "police state" they'll just come take it from you like they have before. Hope it never comes to that, but it has before, and they would gladly do it again "for the people". You don't own anything in this world that the government doesn't simply allow you to have without taking it. Land, physical gold, it doesn't matter. The ownership you have is all a figment of your imagination.

That's a nice rationalization. I'll take my "imagination" and bank with it when silver goes $100+ an ounce.

Obviously it's a good investment right now, and for the most part safe, but if people are hoarding gold and silver fearing impending war times and financial doom, keep in mind that the government has no problem taking everything you have and leaving you high and dry. You love the country though, so I imagine you'd be happy making your contribution. Win/win for you. Good deal..

Nice! I bought silvercoins a couple of months ago. :D

jerryb 02-18-2011 03:28 AM

:thumbsup

Not sure how many times I posted on here telling people Gold is ok but to BUY SILVER. I've been dealing in precious metals for 40-50 years and believe me Silver is an absolute winner right now.

On one of the recent posts I told people to print it out, pin it on your wall, look at it every month throught the year. Waiting to buy Silver is a losers game ... believe me.

:2 cents:

jerryb 02-18-2011 04:26 AM

Ten years ago Silver was $4.08 per ounce. :upsidedow

Nikki_Licks 02-18-2011 07:50 AM

Yep. silver has always been a good investment, although I have never bought any.

I have run across a couple of silver veins in the past, but never paid it too much interest as we are always panning for gold at our mine.

I look at it this way, any precious mineral or gem is a good investment, especially if you find it......:2 cents:

Exactly - I had ten PHYSICAL J&M 100 bars that I bought at 4.2 and used as doorstops and thought I was a smart fellow for selling them at 6. If I had kept them..... <cries like a little baby>

Ok I'll tell the truth. I bought about 50k$ in bars and coins when it was $5 to $6. I sold when it was $10. And I'm kicking myself in the ass now. All I have left are a bunch of silver Roman coins lol

That's about 1600 pounds

sexy-frenchie 02-19-2011 10:41 AM

What do you think about other metals, say platinum, palladium, rhodium, not talking about rare earths?
Could they be of interest in the medium/long term as an investment?

Other than platinum, i'm not sure any of those other ones can compare to gold and silver. There are more of them out there than those two and they have more industrial use and don't really play a role in the "store of value" game.

Years ago I bought my brother 100 British Gold Sovereigns (.2354 troy oz of gold each). He paid around $8 each for the coins and when Gold jumped up where he could get $11 each for them he said .... SELL SELL SELL. He made about $300 in around 3 months. I told him to keep them for his Grandchildren. He wouldn't listen to me.

Today the melt value is around $329.50 per coin. I remind him of that on a regular basis. His $800 investment back then would be worth about $32,950.00 today. Sad story but true and sad. :(

Ok, so you bought them when gold was 41x times lower in value? When was this??
