DWARVES may hold the cure to CANCER
Whatever shortcomings people ascribe to dwarves, a recent study on Ecuadorian little people might finally convince some bigoted members of the larger society to stop selling them short.

Probably has more to do with their disconnection from real world consumer products, and their living off a natural human diet. I'd have to assume that a "remote" village in Ecuador isn't full of cigarette smokers, teflon frying pans, vehicle exhaust, yadda yadda yadda. Whatever other thousands of things are bringing our own impending doom.... :1orglaugh

that's becaue nobody would sell them cigarettes :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

We should grind them down and eat them like meatballs.

A feel-good story ... they don't hold the cure to cancer.
Put them in a place with lots of quickie marts, fast food places, traffic, liquor stores, high-speed internet, etc and see how they do ... if, as a whole, after a few decades, they still didn't get cancer, heart disease, etc, that would be something to get excited about. To reiterate the point others have made, it's presumably their undeveloped environment along with "natural" living are the reasons for their good health. Ron |

Expose them to pollution, fast food, aspertame, cigarettes, endless medications, and lord knows what else we're taking in every day, and they'll get just as sick as the rest of us. |

And to add, studying 100 isolated people for 22 years is worthy statistical data? Note the articel says Quote:
Using the same analysis, what would 100 random, non-smoking people in Iceland show up after studying them for 22 years? I'd hazard a guess that it's "almost no cases of cancer or diabetes" |
