He's 11 FFS! I mean... Do a 'PROPER' drawing. Shading, depth etc all should be used. NOT just stick figures! Lets hope he has learnt a valuable lesson.

This country is out of control. He is 11 and was told by his therapist to do this. People tend to overreact a bit in this situations. And if I was the parents I would sue the police and the school.

yea that's a subject that is extremely sensitive, poor kid, should have known better.

Given what happens in schools today because kids are crazy, I think there is an appropriate time and place to be drawing stick figures of killing your teacher. Probably not in class would be an appropriate time.

Do I think he should have gotten arrested? No. But draw on your own time.

I did watch it and he said that he was drawing it in class.

If a kid is having these problems and needs to express himself during school hours then he should do it in the counselors office.

I had to have special stuff done for me because of my epilepsy and each time they had to cater to me with something the school normally didn't do, I had to go to the nurse's office.

I just don't understand what he could be arrested for, exactly. Isn't this false arrest? There was no probable cause here, no crime potentially committed.

Is drawing now considered a crime? Is there a law against content in art?

You have a great point. I have several friends that are cops and I hear all the time about how they do things just because they have to in order to cover their asses so they don't get sued or if they do they are covered. Sadly, these things cause a lot of common sense to get thrown out the widow.

He's going trough behavioral therapy to help him deal with a problem by redirecting his mind to something else that focuses him so he's not disruptive in class!

Am I the only one here who thinks it's good for the little fucker? They're using this ADHD bullshit as an excuse. Newsflash, it's a fucking made up illness. Being disruptive, distracted, and hyperactive is not an illness, it's a lack of discipline. There is one effective cure for kids. A kick in the fucking ass. No one is allowed to do that anymore, so they fill the kid up with amphetamines and tell him to draw stick figures instead. FUCK THAT SHIT. Sounds to me like what he needs is a severe asswhooping, or if that can't be done a good scare put into him. Cuffing him and throwing his ass in a cell for a little bit probably scared more sense into him than another 10 years of stick figure scribbling would have ever done.

Back in 2000 I was doing a teaching prac for year 11 small business.

I was doing my evaluation lesson and the lecturer from UNI was marking me.

So I handed out these photocopies of the 'ergonomic sitting position' at a desk, so mid lesson this guy keeps holding up his picture with a dick drawn on the man and I couldn't stop laughing!
