Senator Manipulation and Army Psy-Ops

The U.S. Army illegally ordered a team of soldiers specializing in "psychological operations" to manipulate visiting American senators into providing more troops and funding for the war, Rolling Stone has learned ? and when an officer tried to stop the operation, he was railroaded by military investigators.

"My job in psy-ops is to play with people?s heads, to get the enemy to behave the way we want them to behave," says Lt. Colonel Michael Holmes, the leader of the IO unit, who received an official reprimand after bucking orders. "I?m prohibited from doing that to our own people. When you ask me to try to use these skills on senators and congressman, you?re crossing a line."

(In recent months, the Pentagon has quietly dropped the nefarious-sounding moniker "psy-ops" in favor of the more neutral "MISO" ? short for Military Information Support Operations.)

Not that I care, but if it was a topic of interest you could probably find it from your own chosen source of news outlet. If I thought a news source was biased, I'd try to get a balanced version as best as possible by contrasting it from other sources as well. That's what I usually end up doing anyway.

"The article was written by Michael Hastings, whose explosive profile of Gen. Stanley McChrystal last year cost the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan his job."

We'll see how it plays out in the coming weeks.

Rolling Stone? Sorry, thats like getting the cooking channel to cover the MMA finals.
That shit that they pulled on McChrystal was fucked up

Rolling Stone has broken and covered many huge stories over the years.

Dismissing it as a viable news source when you're someone who regurgitates Fox News talking points whenever given the chance is pretty fucking funny.

why don't you find rolling stone credible? to my understanding, they rarely get involved in politics unless it's heavy hitters like this

Can't say I'm surprised. Governments do dirty shit to get what they want and usually reply on their military to do it.

However, Justin Bieber and Charlie Sheen's fuck puppet are more important than stupid shit like this.

I distrust anything that bows to Justin Bieber. At least FOX News are more transparent about their (horrible) intentions.

+1 Rolling Stone has some very, very well done articles and has been, for many, many years very credible...

I think that it's funny that that's the only arguement you have. Same as any liberal news outlet.

Please tell me where Fox lied aboput something, and please let be something that wasn't a mistake that they appoligised for later.

I know you're one of those idiots that blame the economy on Fox News, the hate for Obama on racism and the deficit on Bush. Try reading some different news outlets, please!

Why did you think I was directing that at you? :1orglaugh

Also, I have no arguement. I don't get all amp'd up over politics on a message board. :winkwink:
