i've been intermittent fasting for over 3 weeks now, anyone else here fast?

every day i go 16 hours without eating, then i consume all my food within an 8 hour window.
i eat pretty much whatever i want to within that window and eat till i am stuffed.

i also now exercise at the 15th hour of the fast- yup hard resistance training on an completely empty stomach.

no more 6 meals a day, no more counting cals, no more having to try and eat clean all the time. hell, i've had fried chicken, pancakes, bacon, and beer!

anyone else try fasting?

Ah the warrior diet :)

F-U-Jimmy 02-25-2011 10:05 AM

I've been intermittently farting does that count ?

Paul&John 02-25-2011 10:05 AM

Hm interesting, and when do you usually have that 8 hour window, in the morning or in the evening?

Anthony 02-25-2011 10:06 AM

Been doing this with Moe since he started as well. I've lost almost 15lbs, and about 3 inches on my waist. No exercise, just eating clean when I can, and intermittent fasting. I have one cheat day a week when I can eat whatever I want.

If you have any questions, Dyna Mo is the man to answer them!

I've always wondered why when you slow your eating down to nothing it's called FASTING.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

CaptainHowdy 02-25-2011 10:21 AM

I don't impose on myself or, worse yet, simulate any kind of suffering...

CaptainHowdy 02-25-2011 10:22 AM

And I only (really) fast on Ekadashi ...

no suffering whatsoever. in fact, i think there was more suffering in eating 6 small meals a day and all that.

humans have significant evolutionary history being in either a fasted or fed state, not being semi-full all the time. we're used to it.

You dynamo!

Add a midday meal of microwave popcorn, fills the belly and low calorie.

Don't strain your willpower too hard, take it easy with (a bit more) sensible eating..

i'll let ya know in 9 weeks, i've put together a 12 week plan to gain lean muscle and lose a few pounds of pure fat at the same time. it will be pretty difficult. but so far so good. i like this eating plan much more than any other i've tried.

Sounds like a pain in the ass. You can lose weight on any fad diet, question is if it is healthy and sustainable and answer is almost always, nope.

From someone who is doing it, it's not. A pain in the ass is 6 meals a day, prepping for it, carrying it around, and eating.

Have you been doing your Muay Thai with this diet? I haven't started training on it, about a month since changing to IF. Starting BJJ again Monday, so I'm wondering what the best times are before training. I start fasting at 9pm, and don't eat till about 1pm. BJJ class is at 6:30pm.
