Has Anyone Jailbroken Their Iphone 4? What Are Some Good Apps?
 

I just jailbroke mine and it's working great! However what are some cool apps and themes i should check out. I'm more or less a jailbreak newb ;-)

I love the HTC lockscreen app and the barrel app. I also installed MXtube which seems pretty cool! What else should i check out?

I'm thinking about doing this to mine so I can use it when traveling internationally... off topic question, you can not update the OS correct and if there are problems, Apple wont support the warranty?

IMO, the NES emulator would be #1 to get :thumbsup

I dont think its a black and white as that, but in my case I'm looking to use the $500 phone I bought overseas. AT&T and Apple "locking" phones to a certain network starts to fall into monopolization IMO.

Years ago, prior to the iPhone coming out, both AT&T (cingular) and Tmobile had a policy in place that if you fulfilled the 1 year contract with them when you bought your phone, they would send you the unlock codes for your phone. Shortly before the iPhone came out, that quickly stopped.

I see it as your telling me the TV I bought from Best Buy can only be used in my living room. If I want to plug it in in my bedroom, I have to pay 5x as much just because its in a different location.

mine i mainly did it for the customization and use of opensource apps which apple doesnt let you use, of course it voids the warranty though.

if apple allowed you to customize it wouldnt be needed.

ps. remmeber to change your root pass from the default to something else, never know if someone could grab your wifi connection and fuck your phone up.

I had to jailbreak my first iPhone 2G because none of the Canadian carriers supported the iPhone yet. I remember being able to get all those funky themes and open-source apps, but I never got anything free from the App Store.

the only jailbroken apps i use are the ones to instantly turn on/off bluetooth etc, and adjust brightness all from a panel after swiping the top status bar, and another one so when it is locked i hit the home key twice and it goes white and turns brightness up (ie a somewhat decent light for seeing in the dark).

no idea what they're called now. installed them ages ago. i'm still running iOS 3.1 ...

It's not stealing content, it modifying the iPhone so you can access different type apps in which apple does not allow, so it is a seperate type App store in which you also buy apps within there.

I bought the Premium BiteSMS there it helps out with quick reply and things in which the default SMS app does not handle to my liking.

You NEED! Lockinfo. It is only the most useful jailbreak ever that pretty much gives iphone users widgets. Widgets are the only real thing android has on the iphone and sadly that is not opinion, but fact. With Lockinfo you get 90% of what they have with 100% of the iphone features.

In my book the best of both worlds is always the way to go... my 2 cents
