Is Anyone Using OpenX?
Hello Everyone,
How many people are using OpenX? If you're not using OpenX are you using another Ad Server? I use OpenX to manage ads. I tell OpenX the parts of my website wherein I display ads. Then, I tell OpenX about my advertisers and tell it to show their ads in their specific places to meet certain criteria. For example, if I have 2 advertisers vying for the same spot, I can tell OpenX to show one place 50% of the time, and the other for the other half. It looks like i can fix that fraction to whatever I want and between a lot of advertisers. I don't get a lot of traffic now, but I anticipate that I will need to manage ads this way so I went ahead and built it. I'm just wondering if anyone else is doing OpenX, and with that how has your experience been? Thanks. Egon |
i use it once, without success

Can you expound on that? What do you mean by no success?

lots of people use openx. It works really well, but make sure you keep it updated.

I use OpenX, it's cool but seems to have gotten a lttle bloated with recent updates. Works great with one exception (for me, that is): I cannot get the banner restrictions to work. For example, there are certain ads I want to show up ONLY on certain pages. The restrictions are just ignored and the ads show up everywhere. Farily easy to work around, but my life would be so much better if I could make this work.
Aside from that, I love it. |
OpenX is a big, fat sweaty pig of a script. It's hard on your server for having such a simple job. I dropped it several years ago.

Now there is a free hosted version you can use / test... |
I have used it . It works pretty well. You can also use it. Should not have much of a problem.
