IBill join page wording concern
These are two samples of terms on IBill join pages from two different companies: CEN and ARS
----------------------------------------- TERMS You are receiving a 3 day trial for no charge. You will be billed $36.19 every 30 days starting Thursday, January 23, 2003. Your subscription will automatically be renewed for your convenience until you cancel. ------------------------------------- TERMS You are purchasing a 3 day trial for $2.99 You will be billed $39.99 every 30 days starting on 1/23/2003. Your subscription will automatically be renewed for your convenience until you cancel. ---------------------------------------- It is the second line that would scare me off. It says "You will be billed". It never says unless you cancel before such and such date. Sure it may say it in the T&C page but I would think this would scare them off first. I asked the ARS people about this and they seem to think that what I wanted it to say would encourage cancellations. As an affiliate I believe this wording scares of initial sign ups. What do you people think? |

Hmmm.... I never realized that before, when did that kick in ?? I did notice since Jan 17th hit, my signups have dropped a lot on Twistys, so I checked it out to and it says this -
TERMS » You are purchasing a 30 day trial for $19.95 » You will be billed $19.95 every 30 days starting on 2/19/2003. » Your subscription will automatically be renewed for your convenience until you cancel.    |
Hi Guys. I may be wrong, but I believe it has always been worded that way.
Hey Slick. What's up! I looked over our numbers and the signups and ratios have been steady all weekend and all last week. I can't see anytime or day where it looks like something was changed. Shap Twistyscash.com |
Ok, that's great to hear, maybe it's just a bad spell of traffic here. I thought that perhaps it was that warning, although it's probably been sitting there for months now, he he he.

Yeah, The wording has been like that for quite a while.
