I'm waiting to see if it's that much better than my first ipad.. I know a girl that manages the bar I go to that bought the first ipad just this x-mas and sold it on ebay for $385 this week..(The $500 one) and is getting the ipad 2 tomorrow.

She's bringing it to the bar st pattys day for me to play with it and i'll decide if I wanna put my old ipad on ebay for the new one. I don't see any night and day features that make me want to throw out my current one for the 2 but we will see.

Really debating on waiting until they release a jailbreak to buy one or get one tomorrow with 5% cash back at launch...

No apple product has ever gone unhacked for long, so I think it would be pretty safe to jump on the train early. But.... I don't want to jinx it.

I'll probably get one, but I'll wait until the initial rush is over.

Zorgman 03-10-2011 08:31 PM

Will get one but later in the year. Along with (hopefully) and Android tablet too.

Not me...

Will wait at least a month, but i may get one for my 3 year old daughter. She plays with a friends of mine and loves it.

Making learning fun for a child is a selling point for me.

looks interesting but i'll wait. bought the original and sold it. too big at 10" and clunky. new size and speed is a winner but no flash still a killer. like the motorola xoom but it's the first of MANY android tablets to hit the market this year.

Chris 03-11-2011 05:57 AM

just placed my order - its preorder today

Bingo...

I bought the Itouch for my 4 year old for xmas... still has not put it down. My almost 3 year feels left out so I'm getting her the Ipad tonight for her birthday.

The learning apps on theme are wonderful.

amazing that people let 3-5 yr olds play w/ an ipad. click click... whoops.. there goes $1 and another $1. in app purchases?

DateDoc 03-13-2011 10:05 PM

70% of ipad2 buyers own an ipad1. That is pretty good retention. :)

It makes you put in a password anytime you want an APP. Even the free ones.

I drove from NYC to Mont Tremblant (ski town about 1.5 hours north of Montreal) on Friday. A ton of traffic in the city and drive was quit long. I decided to take a break in Albany to go into the shopping mall and hit the Apple store. They had a big line for people waiting to purchase the Ipad. Luckily it was there was a Best Buy in the same mall, and people from Albany are to stupid to realize they sell them there so I went there and didn't wait online and got my first apple product, an Ipad 2. I decided to get one after utilizing ones that friends has. Either on vacation in foreign countries or just for daily usage. It has a lot of great tools. I got to the hotel, downloaded the Trip Advisor app. Within 2 minutes it located where I was and told me all of the best restaurants and places to visit while I am here and it is A LOT lighter then my laptop, although I am not going to use it to replace my laptop.

One thing I will say. I am a little disappointed with the quality of the camera in it. Yes it is fine to skype/facetime with people if you do that a lot for business or personal use. If you dont. You can save yourself 100 bucks and get the ipad 1. All in all, it really does have some great apps and is very convenient to travel with as it weighs practically nothing compared to a laptop.
