Google Farmer Update?
Anyone here lost traffic to their website when they introduced it? My best website got slaughtered losing some 70% of google traffic. Yet some other websites that were no more then spammy linkfarms have had big boosts.

you either need to lower your bounce rate, get more backlinks or add more cowbell.
Farmer likes all 3 |
Adding cowbell now.

Cowbell cleared up a lot of things for me
|
One site went from 10k per day to 700 per day and another went from 1k per day to 12k per day, don't really understand it. Think it needs time to settle in properly.

1st definately needs more cowbell |
Ive lost around 30,000 page views a day. So far its only rolled out in the United States, what the fuck is going to happen when it gets rolled out around the world.
A lot of business will shut shop and a lot will sack staff. And when you look at Googles results now there a thousand times worse. |
look at the sites that now outrank you. See how often they update. See how they present their content. Do you update as often? Go to www.seomoz.org/linkscape/ and look at their backlinks... then, look at your backlinks.
It is either backlinks or bounce rate the cowbell is a myth |

the update was against the content farms, not against sites with original content; had ezine listed only original aritcles, they wouldn't have lost their traffic from Google on the other hand, they estimate the update to hit 25% of the existing sites, which is a major fuckup on tehir end if you ask me .... I seriously hope that bing or any other SE for that matter takes off and gives these fuckers some real competition |
So far its only been rolled out in the United States. When they roll it out worldwide thats when a lot of web business will close shop. From what I can see, the more niche your website the better.
